A request from our volunteer groundsman for this saturday please.

The club is continuing to improve our “swamp” playing surface and requires as many as possible fit persons to assist in digging out a number of trenches this saturday morning at 9:30 am in order for sprinklers and new drainage to be put into the pitch. It will only take a couple of hours with a few volunteers. So get out of your pit and lend a hand please, lets not leave our ground only 95% complete, free cups of tea if you need the incentive. Just reply on here if you can assist, no need to reply if you can’t.

Just keeping this at the top as i don’t wamt it to disappear!!! This is important for the future development of the stadium and the players so please help

Will be trying to get down, do we need to bring our own shovels?

I’m down doing a few bits in the shop so will muck in if required for an hour - bout 10ish i expect.

The response wasn’t as good as hoped, so the request has continued for tomorrow morning, as there is still some work to be completed. Below is some of them working today, to repair broken drains, and install a 6 sprinkler system.

As i mentioned when i was down there this morning, it’s like an episode of Dad’s Army!!

Bit embarrassed that we are leaving the heavy work to the older generation…these fellas are another bunch of Witton Legends.

Unfortuately, hardly anybody responded to this request, and the usual suspects were left to do it all themselves.
