V Ashton

I agree that overall Ashton probably deserved it, they scored 2 out of 3 chances, we missed several very good chances and a pen, they worked very hard and defended like tigers so fair play to them, my other observations stott and tuck two very good players but unfortunately do not appear to be able to forge a link/partnership, I assume matt woods was carrying an injury ? or why only a sub and why change the shape from the team that was so effective last week back to the one that hasnt been so good recently ? and finally 2 very good pen claims and Andy dont excuse the ref or liner for the second one on Gards i was immediately behind the liner and therefore had the same very good view it was as clear a pen as you can see ! gards beat the man who while on the ground hooked his arm around gards leg = penalty ! but not with incompentent officials, yes we might well have missed it but it WAS a pen and for me Pens should go to Gards who takes a very good pen with great power and technique he has not missed to my knowledge only saved. overall a 6 out of 10 from Witton not quite good enough against good teams I will trust Pritch though to get it even better than it is, as most fans say we are probably where we expected to be after a promotion. UTA,

PS new striker looks a different option looked a bit rusty and unfit though to be honest, so hopefully when he gets fit good competition up front maybe and Shaw and Connors getting close to a return so not all bad.

As they say “Things can only get better” and “Onwards and Upwards”.

not the result we hoped for, but the team cannot be knocked for effort, which was the usual 110%. however, i feel we should play the ball on the floor more, cos when we do that our passing game is a joy to watch and teams usually can’t live with it. the players should have more faith in their abilities.

I agree Albion Forever but playing like that uses a hell of a lot of energy unlike just “Lumping it”. The players are only part timers and their fitness levels cannot be like that of a professional club. As I said before the way we play it is no wonder we run out of steam a bit in the second half and tend to “Lump it” a bit in desperation. Having said that I still want us to play like a non league Barcelona than a non league Wimbledon of old.

I think we are missing our Lionel Messi in Alex Titchener to play like that as well as last season, he brought a lot to the team much more than goals, his running, energy, link up play, dangerous runs into the box and incisive passing, it must have been a joy for Stott to play with him ! now the midfield does not have the same options stott and tuck look almost for the same ball and runs neither drops off to recieve and neither have Titches ability to beat players it will take time I guess for the team to adjust but we will and then we will see improved results.

That is a very incisive observation C J.
