Vs Trafford

All the best to the Albs today, we will be looking out for updates…

I am out for the day but hopefully will return home to good news for a change. Personally if I were the Manager I would keep the best 13 and let the rest go and hope for the best re injuries.
WHS.

Am hoping to be there this aft (fed up I can’t make Belper next week!) COME ON THE ALBIOOOOOON!!!

Yes will be there looking forward to it and hoping to see a little bit of progress and of course a win for the Albs. UTA

I fancy us to stop the rot today and I’ve just stuck a tenner on us to win 3-1
UTA

3 down and Gards sent off.

Where are the reasons for optimism?

Lads - all teams suffer from bad patches from time-to-time.

With Pritch having left us, it will take a little time to settle things down again. One bad result saps the confidence, and can sometimes lead to a bit of freefall - but we are Witton, and we’ll bounce back.

Keep the faith, and get behind the team 100%. At times like these, the players need all the support and encouragement that we can give.

So this is a “bad day at the office” - sh*t happens. We’ll come back all the stronger for it…

Lost 0-5

There’s a lot of bad days at the office at present

Lack of effort from most of the team and woeful defending yet again but what concerned me most is that there was some new faces in the crowd today mostly with kids, after watching that do you think they’ll come back? I doubt it!

There is nothing I can say. I am lost for words.
WHS.

If Sheehan didn’t know how difficult the manager’s job is, he does now. I did think we kept going well and the heads stayed up, but it was over by half time - again. I don’t often criticize selection decisions but how Cliff must feel, after being our most consistent player this season, in my view, is anyone’s guess. Not only will he put in a shift at left back, right back and even central defence, but then he gets put on the bench in favour of Lea, who consistently drifts out of position, which partly led to the killer 3rd goal. Ben has been rescuing him all season and everyone I speak to knows it.

The 4th goal was symptomatic of how things are going, Josh hits a poor corner and Trafford break free and score. A shame, as Josh was our best player and biggest goal threat again. This was not the disastrous performance that we saw at Runcorn, but still a really big blow to the confidence. No easy answers, I’m afraid.

Ronmoy has a great point how can Lea be selected In font of Moyo just Bizarre ! And I am not sure having 3 - 18 year olds making home debuts is the best thing to do either in a fairly strong level of non league, on the goalkeeper who had a poor game why was Ryan Swift not given a chance did we need a loan signing ? preseason he arguably looked better than Sanna. The vibes around the club are not good right now ! should the budget issue have been played out in public or done discreetly by the manager and the board ? Overall not a great display today but after going 3-0 down we did create some chances and it was hard to tell we had 10 men but it caught up in the end as we got stretched and conceded 2 late goals.
Lots of work to be done yet to test Sheens sonearly in his management career but conceding 16 goals in 4 games suggests we need to be much harder to beat before we can start playing our best football !

I can’t really add anymore to what’s already been said, was very surprised to see Moyo on the bench as he was by far our best player at Runcorn last week.
My main point is the fact we cannot continue to concede as many goals as we are and expect to win games .Its not just the defence the whole team must take responsibility, look at when Liverpool were dominating the game in the eighties , there first line of defence was always Dalglish and Rush and were always extremely organised by a strong leader on the park in Souness
It is also frustrating to see how we defend set pieces, the first goal yesterday was a prime example, the ball was sent over and nobody attacked the ball which if the ball is in the six yard box is essential, as a result the ball just drifted into the net.
What I wouldn’t give to have somebody with the heading ability and willingness to attack the ball of say John Goryl, Mick Kilduff or Steve Mcnelis to play alongside Ben.

Think everyone was surprised that Moyo didn’t start. Looked at eckersleys career been at 6 clubs never made more than 3 appearances. The management team mustn’t fancy swift. Thought Blake had good feet and showed some nice touches, but no one played well. Trafford always beat us at home even when we’re playing well so wasn’t surprised we got beat. It was obvious yesterday that there is a major lack of confidence in the team at the moment and we’re still carrying a couple of passengers.

Sheehan has managed something that Pritch couldn’t achieve in 20 years then :stuck_out_tongue:

Got it in one! 16 goals shipped in four games is a disaster.
WHS.

Ridiculous pathetic shambolic nonsense!! (that is a toned down version of what I was going to post when I got back from the game yesterday!!) We did play quite well with ten men mind, but maybe Trafford had taken their foot off the pedal anyway.

I agree with others in being totally perplexed as to why Cliff Moyo was on the bench, a complete mystery to me that one. I don’t blame the debutant keeper really more those infront of him.
