Finished 2-2 which was fair.
By no means a classic.
Yes,that sums it.God knows what happenend in 2nd half we were not our best.
How was the Woodley defender who went off?
Team = cooper, woods, doughty, pritch, kerns, hancock, ennion, macca, kinsey, harrison, botham.
Ben scored on 20 mins a good move good crosss from doughty and strong header to finish from Ben. 2 weak teams then played poorly and it stayed 1-0 to HT, Second we lost even more of a grip and conceded 2 very sloppy goals through bad defending, a decent effort to try and get going again meant we had a bit of pressure and grabbed a deserved equaliser late on header from kinsey after a bit of a goalmouth scramble, really a turgid affair we obviously suffered from players missing and it showed, cannot see us getting very much from our next 2 games at trafford and chester on this form and with no players due back but I will keep hoping
After a bright start we faded badly and on this display we will be lucky to finish halfway.True we had a weakened team with some playing out of postion and there was no lack of effort but some of the team are not even up to the standard of this league!
Time I think to give Pritch the managers job on a permanent basis and give him and Nigel ? enough time to prepare for next season ? Whether Macca stays or not ? well…

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ELI, THAT WE DON’T?
He sustained a dislocated shoulder. An ambulance was called to take him to Leighton but he opted to go to his local hospital instead.
Ouch
Don’t know anything TT except that Pritch should now be given the job permanantly so he and whoever his assistant will be can start preparing for next season. He was denied that chance at the begining of this season by the arrival of Oggy ! Nigel,if he wants the job would be an ideal choice.he is a qualified coach and proved in his short stint as manager that he can bring on young players.some of whom are playing at this level in the South Division !
felt we did well in first half, second half felt that the our defence was all over the place woodley seemed to pick holes in it,and made us pay the price.Ok was a weakend team, and had players out.Cant see us being out of this league this season. So think that what is needed for the rest of this one is damage limitation, and start thinking of the new season.
I’m a bit worried her about the fact that Macca might leave! I’m happy if Macca and Pritch continue in the Managers job for this and next season. I also like the idea of Nige Deeley contributing in the form of coaching and bringing on young players there is no one better equipped than him to do it. Don’t want to see Nige put under the pressure of managing again though!! Part of the management team yes but not outright manager. Its important that both Macca and Pritch are involved so they can share the workload. I take it that Oggies involvement is nil now so Terry Murphy will be the old head with the player contacts which again is ok.We have no money we have to be realistic so lets back these lads. I like Macca and he a bonus on the playing side too so we need him to stay.
Saturdays game was not great but not a disaster either. Why we can’t play the Ablett lad down the right wing is baffling as he played quite well at Ossett. Pleased to see Dean Ennion have a go as he worked hard in the absence of Joe O’Sullivan,(shame about his injury as he was just coming into it). Ben up front played quite well too. I guess the season is over mid table for us but you never know its worth keeping going as some one may slip up. Can’t really see us improving much though with the injury list and lack of strength in depth which with no money is just a fact of life. Perhaps just need to use what we have a little better.
What we really need to do now is talk to the lads we want to keep for next season and get them on board and see if Terry can start looking at reinforcements we can afford for next season. We have some good young talent and the basis of a decent side but we do need to resolve several positions in the team for next season. Onward and upward lets give it are best shot against Trafford and Chester. Chester are not that good playing at home and if we could get into them we could get a shock result!!Nothing to lose anyway!!
