Widnes FC v. Witton Albion

Witton dominated the game 1st half without a goal we need to put our chances away.

Widnes put 5 in midfield second half and took control then scored with a one to one with Danny Roberts.

Our subs Tom and Connor made the difference, 2 crosses to Tom and 2 goals. He really does know how to finish, wish he was 10 years younger.

However we deserved the win over 90 minutes, great come back Witton still in playoffs keep it going next week is another tough one.

What a win that is, well done lads :muscle:t2:

A strange game of 3 halves lol. First half Witton played all the footie without creating many chances, Widnes were a bit more rugged and direct but created little!

To be fair both teams struggled with an awful 3g pitch thatā€™s seen better days, the bounce was really high and it runs too quickly meaning lots of poor control and misplaced passes.

Second half Widnes came out like a different team and ran the game and we seemed off the pace and unsettled and it was always Widnes to score first through the impressive Milne?

We couldnā€™t get in the game and on 63 a double change made with Hughes and Pope on and the unlucky Newell off with Duckworth and so the third half as Witton gathered a bit of momentum with Kennerley doing well on the left putting in two crosses for Pope to equalise and then give Albion the lead.

Fantastic turnaround and then Witton caught Widnes on the break with Rokka racing onto a good cross to finish the game.

The good following from Witton were quite stunned and the lads deserved there full time applause.

Brilliant result and our play off dreams continue. UTA.

All the social media platforms were saying it was Cameron Fogerty who went off not Brandon Newell.

Agree with the above.

I was directly in line for Popeā€™s first. When the cross was in the air I thought goal.

It was definitely Newell who went off.
