Witton return to league action on Tuesday night following a blank weekend, when they welcome new-boys Padiham in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

The Storks were promoted via the play offs in the North West Counties Premier Division after finishing fourth at the end of the 2025/26 season.

They currently sit fifteenth in the table and have won three of their twelve league games so far, twice on the road including a nine-goal thriller at Wythenshawe.

Their last game saw them draw 2-2 at 1874 Northwich on Saturday after being two goals up, one of the goals coming from Reece Webb-Foster their joint top scorer with four goals.

The fixture will be the fifth meeting between the two clubs so will hopefully be an interesting encounter.

The previous four meetings were way back around the early 1900s, both teams have two wins.

The Lancashire club have four players in their squad who will be familiar to Witton fans, well most of them anyway.

Wing-back Lee Pugh, midfielders Kingsley Williams and Oli Roberts, striker Joel Brownhill completes the quartet.

A tough game is to be expected and Witton will need to be at their best in order to get the desired result.

Kick off at the Bedspace Trust Community Stadium is 7.45pm.

A lot of hard work from Witton last night, but without the win the midfield didn’t seem to click for me.

We missed Danny Kerr in there and Ebhote as well, both full backs played really well but I thought we let 2 points slip against an average team, however move on to Saturday and get the win.

A foul night for football! I thought we played ok for first half but not at our best! We definitely missed Ebhote and Kerr!

We seemed lightweight in midfield, plenty of energy but losing possession a lot and once they scored a poor goal from us, what were our defenders doing?

They looked the side to win it however we had chances but were wasteful, both keepers kept the score down to 1-1.

Tom Hoyle didn’t look happy in what seemed a deeper left mid role never got into the game! Mom was maybe Freddy Garbutt who carried the forwards.

Some games our 4 3 3 just doesn’t work it would be good to see Hoyle up with Garbutt as a 2 with a link player in behind them maybe Edwards or Steele perhaps, who can both get goals and create.

Onto Newcastle Saturday, over to Ben and team to sort it out need 3 points from that. UTA
