A dominant first half which arguably lulled us into a false sense of security. A very good first half in which we played some good football and deserved a 2 goal lead without Chris having a save to make. The 2nd half Colls had to have a go and whilst they huffed and puffed with a lot of possession never really troubled us too much. If Wardle’s header goes in it’s 3-0 and easy street but within a minute it’s 2-1 after a sloppy goal and a nervy last 10 minutes but, I thought a well earned and deserved win.
A tough game which I thought we deservedly came out with all the points, the team work ethic is great and we are as mentioned earlier a much more attacking threat now. Atherton gave it a good go second half but without the quality to finish, the Witton defence was excellent and my MOM was Josh Wardle. UTA
Yet another week bristling with pride after another great win. Sounds like we’re playing good football and being rewarded for our efforts.
Well done, lads - keep it going!:clap
Goals from yesterday’s game. Many thanks to Atherton Collieries for the video footage.
Thank you to everyone who donated to the Pitch Fund Collection at yesterday’s game.
The total collected was £160 plus we had a donation of £60 from Reg Hardingham, who hasn’t been able to attend games recently.
Thank you once again to Tracey Collins for her amazing efforts especially in awful weather conditions.
