Becoming a familiar pattern. Too deep towards the end of 2nd half and conceding a goal at 90+ minutes. I don’t know why Ossie didn’t come as sub. I don’t think the subs were used at all where as Basford used all theirs.

No we didn’t use any Vijay. All these late goals are proving costly.

2-0 Up scored two lovely goals and playing well, why not sit back and defend deep and lets not keep a striker up top what could possibly go wrong !!! and iff it does go wrong we can always change it with a substitute couldnt We ! 2 points lost me thinks again.

Yes we were 2-0 up and playing well but towards the end of the first half we were defending deep as Basford gained the upper hand. They are no mugs being just above us in the table (Still, after the late late equaliser!) We had some good attacking play in the second half and twice at least could have scored once when Will Jones’ shot bounced up just over and again on 90 minutes when their keeper made a brilliant save to deny us certain victory…seconds later Basford had broken quickly and equalised. We didn’t use any of our subs but we were winning the game and maybe wanted to keep the same shape and balance. And yes, particularly at home, I’d like to see one or even two left up when the opposition have a set piece but some of the top premiership teams also have everyone back. I think it leads to too crowded a penalty area and possibly contributed to the handball for their penalty yesterday. We are desperately unlucky not to have four more points from Tuesday and yesterday but those are just my thoughts!

Lets be honest were all Monday morning managers(me included) in he 89th min their keeper makes a great save to prevent 3-1 then 30secs later 2-2 its very fine margins in football. Also Basford are no dummies & paid £10,000 for a player who scored the equaliser.
I thought Witton played some good football & looked comfortable & kept their shape when Basford had the ball & with all 3 subs attacking players maybe thats why the manager didnt make substitutions because he didnt want to change the shape.

A change was REALLY needed because Basford had got control of the game and we were fearing an equaliser and it came ! it wasnt out of the blue and its happened a good few times now ! if you keep doing the same ie deep defending with no one up it will keep happening surely and of course we are all monday managers.thats part of the fun UTA

Just out of curiosity & this isnt a dig at anybody, WHAT changes would anybody have made on Saturday? Bearing in mind we had 3 attacking players & Ossie probably only about 70% fit. Me personally I couldnt see any obvious ones but I agree we sat a bit too deep 2nd half.

Well my understanding was that Osebi was fit, so He was the obvious sub to add pace to a tired side, He would have been further forward and tied up at leasst 2 defenders and also give us an outball, alternatively Lingouba could have come on in midfield and puished Owens on which we have done with success anything to stop Jones and Hopley being in our back 6 !

Cesaire wasn’t on the bench on saturday, so that would have been some change!! People moaning about making changes when the players aren’t available for the manager to make those changes. It’s not easy being a manager, maybe we should stop moaning & support the team.

No, he wasn’t there so apologies for that but it doesn’t change my opinion, about defending way too deep and not changing what needs changing. This is a fans forum for opinions I always thought? and I do my fair share for Witton Albion thanks very much, so I will have my say! You do what you wish no problem.

Nobody is saying you don’t do plenty for Witton & yes it is a fans forum & that is why I can have my opinion. Maybe you can ask the manager at the Q&A about substitutions & defending, Im sure he will give you an honest answer.

If I go I will ask him but been to a few of those and its usually A very guarded affair , but it doesnt mean I cannot comment on here in the FORUM after matches and before and yes you can have your view also most welcome DW.
