belper have had 83 goals scored against them this season and we’ve played them twice and scored 0
Pretty poor game, Belper came for the draw and played exceptionally deep and were very physical - sadly two things we don’t do well against. I felt like we just looked lost at times and had no idea how to create anything in the final third.
If we took one of the chances we had in the first half we would of been miles away from them, need to dust ourselves down and move on.
Wanted 4 points from these two home games and we’ve got them. Frickley next week is now massive, we have to win that game, as do they so it should be a lot more open.
Thought the boos at the end were unjustified, an incredible amount of negativity on the stands today.
We’ve now gone above Frickley following today’s results so next week is massive.
Personally thought the boos were more than justified today, we were awful from start to finish! We rightly applauded them off Tuesday, have to take criticism when you perform like today. But still think we shouldn’t play 3-5-2/5-3-2 at home.
Just as well you can’t get points deducted for lack of quality. And that goes for both teams.
Well 3-5-2 can be exciting but your wingbacks have to have the pace, ability and desire to get forward, Gards does it very well as did Matty woods don’t think Joe haw has it in Him and Dawson today looked like he was scared to get forward maybe under instruction ? But to be fair the whole team were poor today mom probably Tom Schofield, we were playing so badly and then thoughts turn to the bench to change it and we had nothing there ! It felt like a defeat and the crowd were pretty unhappy to be honest. If as suggested we are still paying Gards then He should be playing ok it’s not ideal but we need every bit of quality we can get out there and strangely enough if they can put there differences aside till the end of the season he could help save the managers job !
What’s more important CJ is that he could help us stay in this league!
Well a turgid affair was that, we had the two chances Titch’s shot that came back off the post and Danny’s free kick saved well by their keeper. I’m not going to criticise as there seems little point at this stage, the team don’t deliberately go out to play so poorly. But yes the negativity on the terraces was noticeable and, maybe, understandable but we HAVE to try and find in in ourselves to pull together and support the team as much as we can for the remaining games!
P.S what on earth happened to Lucas Molina’s flowing locks!?
Why, Why, why Delila, may be he wants to play full back like Kenny Samson, we could sure use one.
Talking of songs not quite sure whether " the wonder of you " was a fitting song at the end of today’s game ? LOL
Today’s game is up there with the worst I’ve ever seen. Aimless long balls from deep just hoping someone would be up there to get it isn’t going to save us from the drop.
If we’ve had played say fc or Ilkeston today we’d have got a spanking!!
Indeed. More fitting would have been: D:Ream - Things can only get better or Yazz and the Plastic Population - The only way is up.
The worrying thing for me is on paper that was our strongest starting 11. Somehow got to stay positive…
On a positive note we moved into 19th place today, next Saturday’s game at Frickley is a proper 6 pointer, they win and they go above us but if we win we go 4 points clear tho they have 2 games in hand.
Not gonna dwell on todays performance as it was a non event really and was not worth anywhere near the admission price.

Ring a ding ding ding
We’re going down
Or maybe a slight change to ‘we all p**s in a green and white pot’
They went up and we went down
Currently the points per game ration in the 3 tier 7 bottom 4 teams if Witton were 4th bottom are :
Witton - 1.083.
Frome - 0.943
VCD - 0.971
So we are clearly better than those teams lol, if a team is saved it could well be us but I think Ramsbottom might nick relegation from us in the fullness of time.
Assuming the bottom 3 are down (which may be doing a disservice to marine) the teams still in with a shout of finishing 4th bottom are as follows with points total next to them.
Kings Lynn 44
Whitby 42
Matlock 41
Nantwich 41
Stamford 40
Witton 39
Frickley 38
Rammy 37
Now whilst there is a huge differential in how many games some of the teams have played I’ve gone up to kings Lynn based on them only being 7 clear and the following form guide. Last 6 league games total points of the teams above.
Matlock 15
Nantwich 10
Witton 9
Stamford 6
Whitby 6
Frickley 5
Kings Lynn 1
Rammy 1
I still feel that, despite recent poor performances Vs Trafford and belper (meaning we’ve taken 2 points off the bottom two this season ) we will get enough points on the board to be ok
Totally agree, we should stay up, if we can manage to win next Saturday that will relieve a lot of pressure, and maybe in my opinion make the players more relaxed which may improve performances on the pitch. Looking To upcoming fixtures we have a massive opportunity to next Tuesday night with Kings Lynn having to make a long journey up midweek could be a big factor in us getting 3 points but with Skem and inform Ashton coming we could really do with some points on the board.
Talking of songs my favourite band is Status Quo of over 100 singles they have had only one No 1 can you tell me what it is ?
First one to post gets a pint off me at the Kings Lynn game.
Down, Down Deeper & Down!
