Progress to the Second Round.

Should do our confidence the world of good and hopefully it’s something to build on.

Good to see us go behind twice and show the character to go ahead again. Menagh’s goal was wonderful. Probably a cross but it was so far away from the intended target that I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and believe he meant it till he says otherwise.

Varying performances from the new lads. Thought Sam Hughes started well but faded a little, Menagh was decent but his crossing needed work, kept hitting the first man, although fortunately we got a goal from one of them. Reeves? looked lively, not sure what role Brewster was playing.

Great win though we still looked a bit ropey defensively, but a win is vital at the moment so won’t complain

We needed that !!!

Good game with both teams having strong periods within the game.

Some real positives in terms of effort and commitment from the Witton lads and a deserved win in the end for their 2nd half performance.

Nice to see a few smiles and happy faces at the end too !!!

Don’t remember us going behind once, never mind twice?

A decent win against a physical and well placed Burscough team so have to be happyB with a win! I still hate the one up top - Titch looked so isolated and a bit forlorn at times and I can see why ! of the new lads liked Hughes in midfield and Menagh had something about him also, Dawse had a decent game and although surprised to see Gards at centre back and Lycett at right back they both played well. We still have work to do re signings including a regular dominating Keeper but it was an improvement lots of energy and commitment and we scored 3 goals ! 3 points needed Saturday now. UTA

A good game tonight both teams played well. We started really brightly and were playing a sharp quick passing game, continued to try and play that way throughout. The number seven Jamie Menagh looks good and that goal if he meant it was a wonder strike…if he meant to cross it then it was still a wonder strike! The winning goal was a good move and Jay Matthews pulled it back suberbly for Alex Salmon to finish well! Very happy to see us win and hopefully gain some confidence!

Sorry Jeff, meant being pegged back twice but still showed character to come back and take the lead again.

It was just nice to come home with a smile on my face.
