Would love to see Brodie and Pritch given a chance as at least this would be reasonable from the financial view but I’d give Gary the next two games to see if he can resolve the problems. Restore Broadhead to midfield to allow Henry to play more creatively and try Foster and Heler up front with Heler told to shoot on site. Lambie is great in the sole striker role but we need more support from the midfield if we are going to get this to work!! We also need Lee Nev to not always launch the ball forty yards all the time and give it away when a shorter pass into midfield might be more effective. We have some decent players but they are not doing the right things which I think reflects on the manager not telling them what their roles are and as pointed out the balance is not right.
Saturday was awful because I actually believed we are a better team than they were and they’ve gone top, but we can’t seem to hack it and we should be doing with these set of lads. This is a critical time for the club because if we don’t get it right in the next two or three games we probably won’t get into the playoffs. Next season could be problamatic because if they reorganise geographically we could be in the North division with stronger teams in my opinion. Anyway another season in this league would also be a problem with gates declining even further!!
Just my opinion no doubt everyone will disagree. Its the guys who really put the hard work in I feel are being let down. Keep going Neil Wilson, Pete Riley, The Groundstaff, Eli and loads of others I could mention!!
Your right Robbo, I was unfair to suggest that this maybe Morgan’s disposition, however I do believe there are plenty of players where the pay packet is more important than the performance or the points!
I think it’s fair to say that that is true at any level! But it does highlight further your point about the likes of Pritchard and Moseley. Their character is invaluable in this day and age.
Despite not being deemed good enough to make recent squads, Mike was in the stand on Saturday with his parents and his children. That shows the affection his whole family has for Witton Albion (his parents are season ticket holders, and continued to attend games whilst Mike was at BPA). That alone doesn’t make Mike worthy of a place in the squad of course, but it is still refreshing to see that Mike and his family care about our football club in the same way that we do.
Cant see how you would leave Pritch out! The lad at the side of him has done okay but looks a bit raw-anyway he’ll be suspended for 3 games soon!! Any news of Boothy saw him in the stands last couple of games-thought he was playing really well before he got injured!
Sitting in my usual grandstand position,i had a great view of Sean taking a knock.Ten minutes later he was substituted.I thought he was playing his way into the game and was looking quite a threat.
Once again i thought the manager has shown his ability to shake a team up at half time. The second half was a good performance, with a poachers goal to show for it.
Perhaps i am a bit soft, but i have never liked the talk of our managers on borrowed time.
Gary as always conducts himself in a very professional manner, unlike the opposition on saturday. At one point in the first half,a member of the opposing bench turned around to the stand and told my dad to F-OFF.Very sunday morning-ish and not the slightest bit intimidating.
I dont think there is much wrong with the squad,we are playing great football infront of very poor crowds,so the players are obviously very well motivated. The motivation is generated by themselves and the manager.
I wish a few of the stay-aways would come down and sample the football we are playing.They/We have to mentally overcome the fact we are playing in the Southern division.I have overcome this problem. The question that begs to be asked is am i a good Wittoner or just deluded?
Dear Mario,
Of course you are deluded.you are a Wittoner, we are all deluded. I have reasons for not being at the last few games but I get told off if I explain why so I won’t. I hope to be there on Saturday to join the other deluded Wittoners. One day, one day, we will get our just reward, God knows when though!!
WHS.
I’m with you there Mario bloody good post!!!
WHS our day will come!!
