WHS.

coming from Chester on Saturday via train, which is best train station to get off, are there any pubs en route, and directions please

Get off at Northwich, its the nearest station. Its a good 20-30 minute walk though so you might want to get a cab to the ground. Club Class Taxis advertise in our programme so its only fair I give you their number, which is 01606 46666. If theres a few of you it should only be a couple of quid each and you can arrange a return to the station with them.

If you walk, on the way the only pub you’ll see is the Chesterway which is a bit cheap and cheerful. You’d be better getting the cab and drinking in our social club prematch.

If you do want a proper pub and are getting the taxi, I suggest the Salt Barge and you can walk to the ground from there in 10 minutes max. Just ask the bar staff to point you in the right direction, its simple.

If you are coming early want to mill about in the town centre, there’s a Wetherspoons and 3 other pubs in sight of it, so plenty for you to do. but again, long walk to the ground from there.

Catering arrangements and Bar special offer! ‎Hello to everyone. I’m looking forward to welcoming all supporters to the bars for this exciting tie between two clubs that share a great history together.

I’d like to welcome our friends from Chester. Though before my time, I’ve been told how our teams and more importantly supporters, go back a long way.

We will have two bars in operation, both serving our core brands alongside our delicious hand pull real ales from local Brewery Tatton.
As an early Christmas gift to all supporters I’m giving everyone members prices on all drinks in the club house between 12-1pm. This is 20% and means that:
Carling £2.64
Tetleys £2.24
Thatchers gold cider £2.40
Tatton Best £2.64
Tatton blonde £2.88
Tatton yeti £2.64
Tatton epiphany £2.64
Guinness £2.88
Bud, peroni, becks blue bottles £2.40
J2o £1.60
Cans pop 80p

We have the main bar and a smaller bar at the other end of the club house. We will also be serving hot food and drinks with the club, next to the main bar. Food will only be served in the clubhouse before the game and hot drinks only at half time due to our Christmas function following the match.
The snack bars in the ground will open at the same time as the turnstiles and remain open throughout.

We will be serving into plastic containers only and the bar will close 20 minutes prior to kick off to minimise queues at the turnstiles. Alcohol is not permitted into the ground unfortunately.

I want everyone to have a happy, enjoyable and above all, safe visit with us.

Whatever the result, I’m looking forward very much to meeting all of you.

Kindest regards

Noel Gallagher
Witton Albion FC Social Club Manager.

Northwich Station is the closest but still a fair way from the ground. Sadly there are no pubs on the route you might take apart from the Chesterway.
WHS.

The Chester way is shut.
There’s no local pubs.
We have superb real ales In our bars at prices that would make wetherspoons’ eyes water.

Forgot the Chesterway unless you don’t mind paying £4 a pint with awfully slow bar staff and a kiddies ball pool full of screaming brats!
As Noel has said the Social club at the ground is a much better choice, it’s very large so can comfortably hold 250 people and the other bar holds 50 so plenty of room plus we have a live DJ at every home game to give a great atmosphere.
See you there at 12

Witton embark on their biggest game for some time on Saturday, when they welcome National League Chester FC to The NetDec Stadium in the First Round Proper of the Buildbase FA Trophy. Certainly their biggest game in the competition for ten years and their biggest test so far, in what has been an amazing season to date. Carl Macauley’s side have already seen off teams from a higher league on three occasions in cup competitions this season and although this tie represents their toughest challenge, it is by no means beyond them. There are a number of connections too amongst the staff on both sides with Carl Macauley having spent a brief spell at Chester as Assistant Manager, also a few of the Witton players will be lining up against their former club. Witton have shown their determination, spirit and character along with their ability to play football on a number of occasions this season and they will certainly need all of that to overcome this hurdle as Chester are on an excellent run themselves. Should make for a great spectacle and Witton will certainly be up for it. Can Witton do this? Yes of course they can and you can guarantee they’ll be giving it everything. Kick off at The NetDec Stadium is 3pm.

Wheres my post gone? Somebody asks for information and a post giving it is deleted because it doesn’t say “COME IN THE SOCIAL CLUB?” Im all about getting people in the club spending money at Witton but if I post on Chester’s forum asking about decent pubs in the area I’d rather read the locals opinions than be told to go straight to the ground. This is a forum, not the gestapo.

Odd I can still see it !!!

It’s been reinstated. Complaining works

Come on Witton you can do it, and so can we . I plead with all Witton fans to get to the game if they can cos this is a big game and this team are playing their socks off for the club, the effort they put in is tremendous an deserves support from all Wittoners. So come on get to the game, you know it makes sense. UTA.
