Witton Albion vs FC United of Manchester

FT Trafford 2 Frickley 3.
FT Stourbridge 2 Marine 2.

Battling performance from the lads today and well deserved point.
They might go up and we might go down but at least I know what team I support unlike the 1200 united/fc fans there today!

gotta say thats a great point :clap

FC United now require five points to be champions. Great result for us today.

Yes didn’t know Matt Busby managed FCUM !!!

What a bunch of morons they are, won’t miss them one bit when they go up!

But more importantly what a result that is, frustrating it took FCUM to come for us to produce it, that said credit to the players for turning up, what a chance Titch has aswell could easily have been 3 points!

Roll on Blyth

A totally transformed performance after the dismal showing at Nantwich. OK, Titch up front on his own and the rest lying deep is a limited game plan, but I’m not going to knock either the effort or the result. FCUM played pretty football but lacked any real attacking threat, Shaw and Barnes were mostly comfortable. We certainly had more chances with the wind behind us and Titch could have snatched it. Yes, we rode our luck in the 2nd half but FCUM didn’t strike me as a side pushing for the Championship, which gives us a lot of credit for the 100% effort and big tackles and blocks. They can also do us a big favour against Stamford.

Echoing others, a great performance and we might have nicked it on another day. Say what you want about Sully but these players play for him. When they’re good they’re as good as anyone in the league. Sadly, when they’re bad its awful. If we can work on the positives, there’s a team capaple of pushing the play offs next season, but perhaps that’s thinking too far ahead for now.

Well done the lads today and well done Sully. The reactions after the game showed these lads are playing for the manager, so three more games, and we know what we need to do.

A great performance all round today, every player and the management team. Despite not usually agreeing with one up front at home this was a clever switch of tactics for today against FCUM. Despite the tactics we might have even won it, and we certainly deserved the draw. After Nantwich it really felt like a win today well done to all. :clap :clap

A sad note if it’s true about damage in the clubhouse, and why when we gave them nearly all the ground did they take over our end too in the second half?

Anyway a precious point COME ON THE ALBIOOOON!!

Was in the clubhouse till well after 5.30 and saw nothing?

I did notice one or two over keen teenagers thinking they were gods gift but other than that everyone seemed well behaved, at least as far as I saw, which was not exhaustive!

Apparently they left a tap on and flooded part of the club and some of them gave stewards a bit of trouble and gob.

A gutsy performance with every player giving their all and getting a well deserved point. Surely now we can put in a good performance against Blyth next week and ensure our stay in the league. It is also down to us, so let’s turn out in numbers for the next game. It was a fantastic gate, but there were a lot of Witton fans absent, so come on you Wittoners get down next week. A win will see us home and dry.;

Yes a very small minority let down fcum today, luckily we were told about the tap in just enough time to prevent a real problem, it caused a flood in the club entrance hall and some water made its way onto the carpet inside the main hall but thanks to quick actions the problem was sorted.
Must praise 99% of fcum fans in the social club who behaved impeccably and spent plenty

:clap Great point, and performance by all the team… Well done to Sully for getting his tactics spot on :clap The team reduced FCUM to having just a couple of efforts on goal in the first half… Had to agree with a chap who was watching Witton for the first time when he said, he couldn`t tell which team was fighting to stay up, or looking to win the league. lets all get behind the manager, and team for the remaining games.

After the two bank holidays performances, this was really a great step up. It will need the same against Blythe on Saturday !

Not sure what happened when Danny got booked on Saturday, but from my view point it definitely looked like the FCUM number 10 pushed Danny in the face and got no card at all. I thought he was lucky to stay on the pitch ?
