Witton Albion vs Halesowen Town

Think you meant Nick Ryan. I couldn’t understand that when I saw the team either.

Just simply cannot understand why Carl upset the back four tonight. It undoubtedly cost us the points. It also pains me to say this about such a wonderful servant to the club but in my opinion Gards is no longer good enough for first team selection. Really disappointed tonight but we move on UTA

Totally agree why did he change the back 4? Be interesting to hear his reasoning, you could see their gameplan once they made their subs everything went down our right handside far to pedestrian without McKenna’s pace. Gutted with the way results went for us aswell last night, but we have another big weekend and hopefully we start our strongest 11.

Yes Nick Ryan, maybe Steve wouldnt have scored the own goal lol.

Last minute winners against you always hurt .veryangry

Apparently River was working in Carlisle . Shocking and nightmare of a performance . We have got so used to Witton’s freeflowing, pacy and attacking football and I couldn’t believe how awful we were . We have 2 big games coming up this weekend . I do hope we don’t have 4 in a row null points .
UTA

Ouch! Hard to take that one. I understand the comments about changing the line-up and disrupting the side but I think the management team and the players need to be cut some slack.

I’ve mentioned it many times but It really is hard playing 2 games a week alongside full-time jobs and I guess the manager saw an opportunity to rest some players against, lets face it, a team second bottom.

Perhaps the issue is that our “squad” players aren’t up to it?

Hugely disappointing result and didn’t honestly see it coming although having said that, we’ve experienced it all before when struggling teams put that extra effort in and get a result.

I’d say we are still in a decent position, in fact one place better off than we were despite losing but it’s getting very tight now and we can’t really afford too many more games like that. Although I still think that there will be more ups and downs to come for all the teams chasing the play off spots. I’ve thought all along that our two fixtures with Farsley Celtic would be crucial and it looks increasingly likely that will be the case but we’re still in there and who knows what will happen.

I dont buy he was resting players if he was it would not have been River or Danny ! Carl is one of few who rate Ryan and always plays him, Humphries and Wilson are streets ahead IMO. Playing 4-3-3 to accommodate Will Jones isnt right either !

A bad couple of results. It also coincides with the injury to Owen Dale. With regards River, he was substituted at Ashton, so I was wondering if he had picked up a minor injury? Its good to see Will Jones available again, but this usually means that Tames has to drop into midfield to accomodate him, and I dont believe this helps Steves best game. Not to sure whether or not I prefer Gards or Danny, as they have such different attributes. I think Owens & Foley have missed Owen Dale alongside them. Lets hope for 6 points this weekend!

Agree Colin no way was he resting players or surely Evans and co would have started.

Right can we just clear a few things up yesterday;
-River Humphreys was only benched yesterday because he was working in Carlisle all day and got back to his home to prepare pretty late.
-Carl Macauley is the manager here and was he says goes. Some people have questioned his first team selection, well fair enough, but if you’re saying so and so should be playing then why aren’t you on the touchline?
-Gardner played and rightly so as Danny McKenna didn’t have a great game on the right side vs Ashton albeit the options he had to pass to was Steve Tames all day. Gardner came in and so he should as his performance last week vs Stourbridge was superb. He also looked like the Gardner of old in the first half, said by Andrew Simpson, and I tend to agree.

Any other questions I can answer then put them down below, I don’t have to do this but their seems to be some rift about a game where Halesowen deserved the win.

Calum, apart from the River Humpheys situation, you’ve not answered any questions there. You’ve just given us your opinions !
And nothing wrong with that. Your opinions on performance and team selection are as valid as anyone else’s. and should be treated with the respect that you yourself sadly fail to show to others sometimes.

If Witton Albion FC wasn’t your forum name then I might know what youre on about.

Can everybody calm down & stop this petty squabbling, we were crap & Halesowen deserved it ! In football you only get out what you put in ! That to me sums up last night. So lets all stick together & move on .
