Witton Albion vs Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Brilliant result and a great start to the new year  UTA

first game iā€™ve been for a while but was very pleased with what i saw, hopley looks way to good for this league.UTA.

Another very good performance plus the deserved result, some very good performances again my picks -Reeves, Schofield and Hopley plus a very good first half from Matthews but again every one played well and put a good shift in. Only worry last game of Reeves loan plus Schofield injured ans with Titch already injured we are going to be on bare bones again ? UTA

It was certainly the last game of Michael Brewsterā€™s loan spell but not sure of the situation regarding Billy Reeves.

Once again a massive thank you to our groundstaff team for providing a decent pitch to play on, when so many games in the area were off. Iā€™ m sure if they all had boobs like Barbara Windsor they too would have made the New Years Honours. Yet another good entertaining performance by the whole team, not just some. Also a big thanks to the management team for making it a pleasure to watch Witton for the first time in ages.

the only downer for me yesterday was the attendance

another thing that puzzled me at the game was the free kick that lead to our first goal how was the keeper not sent off for handling out of the box, even our players didā€™nt appeal to the ref for a red card :red

I think if we keep winning and entertaining the crowds will come back up again-we have had 2 years of not being very good AND it was a lousy day not one to attract people back ? re the keeper not getting sent of then it can only be that the referee deemed it accidental and not deliberate hand ball !
And re the loanees I thought Reeves and Brewster arrived at the same time so assumed both loans would end at the same time ? hope I am wrong and we have Reeves for a bit longer. UTA

A good overall performance that puts 13 points between us and the bottom 2 in the league, so now we can start looking up rather than down and I am confident that Carl and his team can manage the switches required to being in players to replace any loan deals that expire.

Strange game in some ways - especially how we conceded so many corners in the first part of the game, but by the end we were worthy winners.

:clap

Some positive posts on here of late. Seems that Carl is beginning to turn things around on the pitch with some astute loan deals and an experienced addition in RH.
Early days but I think Trevor is due a few apologies now from certain posters

Following yesterdayā€™s game Andy Simpson spoke to Carl Macauley, he mentioned something to the effect that Billy Reeves loan had been extended.

Correct Wheels this news was posted on Twitter. For me the unsung hero at the minute is the young loanee at the back in Ryan Ellison. He is the old fashioned style no messing centre back who seems to have settled in very nicely. Loan deals are always a concern as we cannot develop a steady team. However, to date Carl has done a terrific job in pulling us away from that bottom two and raising the fitness levels and togetherness of the squad. I felt it was remarkable how we kept going for the full 90 minutes against the Northwich Giants having played Warrington on a heavy pitch two days earlier. Well done to Carl and his team and long may it continue UTA.

Good news that ! any updates on the injuries to Titch and Tom Schofield ? could do with both back for Burscough trip.

I haver to agree about Ryan Ellison he has been superb these last three games, but so has every single other player too!

Of the three games we started worst against Harrogate and they were the better team early on, for us to do what we did from then on was a gutsy performance (and so well deserved after we deserved so much more than one point against Warrington and The Scum!

Well done to carl and the players on this result. We started slowly but grew into the game and could have won by a bigger margin had we been pushed to do so .All the players are playing their part in our revival, the signed on players and the loanees. I just wish we could keep the on loan players, because we are looking like a team.
Also must mention the ground staff for their sterling work in getting the match on. What a superb job they are doing.

Absolutely fantastic from the ground staff who work so hard to the football management team who are turning us round. I was sceptical about the appointment of Carl and co but have supported them and continue to do so. They are doing a first rate job.Having watched Saturdays game the two centre backs really impressed me as they never got out of position once The lad Ellison is outstanding and the lad Reeves in midfield is non stop. The whole team is working hard at the moment and its actually a joy to watch after what we;ve witnessed for the last 18 months or so. Iā€™d like to think that we would at least try to sign some of the loan players now that hopefully Roberts is off the payroll. Obviously this might not be possible but the two lads Iā€™ve mentioned make a big difference to this team.
I know our board donā€™t like to gamble on players as weā€™ve been stung in the past but I feel these two young players would be brilliant for us and theyā€™ve demonstrated how good they are so its not taking a chance. Obviously Iā€™m probably asking for the impossible but I hope we at least make some enquiries.
Special mention for John Salmon who I spoke to Saturday night after the game. John is really putting himself about to try and get us players and he has played a big part in getting the loan players in. Lets try and keep it going get behind the team and management and hopefully not get complacent. Onward and Upward UTA. Happy Happy days yippee!!
