Witton Albion vs King's Lynn Town.

Full Time Score from Wincham Park:

Witton Albion 0 King’s Lynn Town 1.

Hit the woodwork twice & found a keeper in inspired form.

Buxton 1 Ramsbottom 1.
Rushall 0 Stamford 0.

Slipped a place to 19th following tonight’s results.

Not sure about that. Probably sounds like sour grapes but I don’t remember him pulling off any great saves, most shots were right down his throat. Just one of those games where you just can’t convert chances, and get hit with a suckerpunch.

Nothing wrong with the performance though, just one of those days I think. Its a shame though when you’re fighting down at the bottom. Would much rather it happened in October!

Must agree with WHEELS, their keeper,Alexander Street, had an enormous game, and was by a long street the MOM. Everybody I spoke to after the game felt that it was one of Witton’s inspired games of football, but it was just unfortunate they came up against a keeper in such brilliant form. I even heard a couple of Wittoners likening him to Gordon Banks!

Was going by the comments on the Witton twitter page. They said the keeper was outstanding! Every now and then, you come up against a keeper who just will not be beaten and it appears tonight was his night! I will say though that for him to be that good, shows how many chances we must have created.

Mookie that goal keeper made at least 4 very, very good saves, admittedly others were straight at him and the plethora of other chances went begging due to woeful finishing.
How many times have you seen games like that when its not going to be your day
but when we have been crap for most of the season it is harder to take. This relegation battle is going to the wire, pray to god that we don’t need a result on the last day of the season.;

Incidentally, Skem hit form tonight beating Southport 5-0 away in the cup.

Attendance: 211.

Fair enough.

I wouldn’t mind so much if we could play badly for once and then hit a team on the break and scrape a win but we never seem to! Could make Nantwich really interesting

I also have to say their keeper was both outstanding in part and lucky too…we just were not getting the ball past him tonight. Yes some of our shots weren’t the best but by god did we have a lot of them and we were very very unlucky to get nothing from that game, they picked our pocket there!! Good grief we could have had four or five goals and they couldn’t have complained!

On a seperate note enjoyed the German lads tonight. They can come again.

I couldn’t fault the effort and commitment for most of the game, but what started off so brightly ends up with us gutted. The first half was the best Witton have played for ages, but some of the misses were appalling. If you can’t score at least a percentage of your chances you end up with nowt and all the effort goes to waste. It’s tough being a Wittoner (for the last 2 seasons…).

What german lads mookie?

How did we not win that game, seriously, not to disrespect the opposition but they offered very little, however fair play to them they got a vital 3 points that we could have done with.

We played well last night but were unlucky in front of goal, and thats what counts. A bit of luck on Saturday i’m confident we can get a point or 3. UTA

The young lads singing behind the goal had some German exchange students with them, they got me to take a photo at the final whistle, hope they come again as we need some young support like that.

As for the game itself i thought we played some great stuff at times and how we didnt score il never know! The Kings Lynn keeper and the big number 5 didnt put a foot wrong all night!
If we play like that on Saturday we will probably win 5-0

Gordon Banks ha ha :woohoo: bit of an over exaggeration but he did play well, we should have won but we didn’t but for me the effort last night was a lot better, hopefully we can reproduce it on Saturday! Any news on Schofield? He was a big miss when he went off.

I see skem won 5-0 at Southport last night! Can’t wait for Saturday

Southport’s team consisted mainly of junior players.

Still a confidence booster for Skems strikers I suppose.
