Witton Albion vs Loughborough Dynamo

Difficult to go through the gears against a poor but awkward Loughborough side. Credit to the lads for sticking with it, once the first had gone in there was only going to be one winner and it was an easy but hard fought win in the end. Agree with Charliebel, there was an unbelievable save by their keeper in the first half.

Comfortable win. Comfortable couple of shandy’s with good friends. Sat very comfortably in the league. Happy days. UTA

Good win against a poor team. They came for the draw and after we got the first goal a win was never in doubt. Have to agree with CJ as Williams ran the show today. Their keeper made two world class saves today and the one in the first half was one of the best I’ve seen at this level

Another enjoyable afternoon’s entertainment at the Ant and Dec. Could have won by a bigger score but for some good saves and a few poor finishes. Nice to see a bigger crowd, especially a large number of families, or a number of large families. Have sympathy with Danny in goal, one minute from another clean sheet only for two defenders to have simultaneous brain farts.

Great display, especially 2nd half. Daft goal given away at the to ruin a clean sheet, but otherwise happy days and 3 more points. Just love this TEAM.

Yes the gate was good 90 more than the biggest team in Winsford lol !! good job they won or they would have had to cry off the replay again with it being outside of Cheshire ! was Benjamin injured today ? if Brown is not fit then we could do with him back for next saturday ! UTA

Great result, I came out to watch a little, I can’t stay out too long or I’ll burn!
Pleasing to see a good attendance. More of the same please. And there are still so many Witton fans I’ve never seen in my life.
Whether you want a beer, can of pop or a brew, come into the social club and say hello.

Chad may correct me on this, but I believe Pep Gaurdiola needs a win or two to match the mighty Carl Mac’s tally this season so far??
Answers on a post card.
I think he’s done better in Europe but Witton hammer celtic and next week’s game I Wales counts as Europe. Well, you don’t need a passport but you definitely need vaccinations!!

Buy more beer…

Thought the first 35 minutes were poor. Bauress missed a sitter! Then we started to liven up. Their keeper had a great game, don’t think our keeper had anything to do. He was furious with the defence for that 9nd minute goal as was the gaffer, band rightly so, doubt that would have happened if Gards was still.on.

Looking forward to the trip to the seagulls

Great win and not bad vocals from us in the second half. I thought the second half save from their keeper was incredible tbh! We’re going to Wales next week!

#tatton blonde rules cheers Noel!

really enjoyed the game yesterday and without playing our best we could’ve scored double figures.i know you can only beat whats in front of you but they were awful.

Not our best performance, but athe effort from the players was 100%, and we won at a canter in the end. This season is really looking to be a good one. That feel good factor is back.

What impresses me most is how many fifty-fifty tackles we win and the willingness of all the players to go in where it hurts. Can cost us through injuries but is the major reason in my opinion why we are doing so well, long may it continue.

From Dynamo’s web site …

Dynamo travelled to fourth placed Witton Albion in Cheshire for this Division One South fixture on the back of six straight defeats.

Manager Wayne Halcro had to reshuffle his side due to the unavailability of three senior players but welcomed the return of centre back Sam Saunders after injury.

Dynamo had the better of the opening exchanges and Saunders should have done better with a header that cleared the cross bar following a cross by Jack Oldham. Louis Keenan then headed wide on 20 mins from a cross by Jamie Clarke.

Witton came back strongly and forced a number of corners, Thomas Owens going closes when his header was cleared of the line by Danny Brain. However, Witton were not to be denied and following a long clearance by Michael Wilson, Steven Tames headed on for Robert Hopley to score past the advancing Liam Sharpe.

Dynamo were rocked by this setback and Owens blasted over from 12 yards following great work by Tames ,and Sharpe denied Hopley with an outstanding save to keep the score 1-0 at half time.

Witton had the best of the second period and put Dynamo under pressure from the restart. Hopley fired over the bar from 8 yards out following a corner and Sharpe saving well from Witton substitute Tolani Omotola.

The game was won for Witton in a seven minute spell midway through the second period. A needless free kick given away by Dynamo 35 yards out was dispatched into the net by Paul Williams, the ball never getting above 2 feet off the ground. Only six minutes later and Dynamo were guilty of overplaying in defence and Bradley Bauress won the ball and scored past Sharpe.

Worse followed one minute later as another Dynamo mistake gave Omotola a clear run on goal and his clinical finish gave Witton a 4-0 advantage and sealed the game for the home side.

Dynamo had a chance on 75 minutes, Keenan provided the cross, Jordan Ball headed back across the six yard box but Pradeep Bahrey failed to connect and the chance was lost.

Hopley then hit the Dynamo crossbar with a fine header before Dynamo scored their consolation goal in time added on when Witton were guilty of overplaying out of defence and Connor Brown-Wingfield won the ball and scored with a terrific shot from 20 yards.

This ended the action on a difficult afternoon for Dynamo which leaves them without a point out of the last seven games.

fantastic win. Well done to the lads but I felt a bit dissapointed about not keeping a clean sheet but that said 3 points in the kitty and going well. Pleased to see Carl, Gary and John Salmon have brought in Steve Tame. In a previous post I was worried that we’d be short of fire power when Toli goes back. At least we’ve brought Steve in who obviously offers something different than Toli does but is a forward and looks to have nice touches and could well be an asset when he gets more games under his belt. I still hope we can do some sort of deal for Toli as I feel a further spell with us will improve his game further but appreciate this is not a straightforward thing to do. Anyways here’s hoping for a good result against colwyn Bay saturday. I always think of the late Mr Colin Cooperman when I go there as he nearly got us in a full scale punch up over a welsh nationalist joke. Unfortunately they did’nt realise he was only pulling their legs but that was Colin larger than life and missed along with all those other great witton legends.Onward and Upward UTA
