Albion suffer their first home defeat of the season.
Rob Hopley 's goal was his 74th in Albion colours. He draws level with three others on that number namely - Brian Jackson, Alex Titchiner & Mark Edwards.
Rob has achieved it in the fewest number of games and he is now only three behind another Albion great - Brian Griffin.
Great stuff Rob and many thanks. Just think all the goals he could have scored for us if Pritch’s annual efforts to persuade him to sign had been successful!
Yes, Rob is a great leader for us as well as goal scoring, if only a few others could join him in scoring we would be doing OK!
Re the game let’s not bother to much just to say we don’t have strength in depth and seriously need some pace up front! Someone like their number 10. UTA
Perhaps the volume of games caught up our small squad last night? Great effort from everyone Saturday after a difficult away game at Scarborough the previous midweek.
Difficult away game again this Saturday followed by another difficult away game on the MONDAY! What’s all that about?
Fingers crossed. Bottom 3 of the table is uncomfortably close.
UTA!
What’s that all about indeed? I thought having two less clubs in the league would mean less cramming in of fixtures. Marine and Workington are also suffering in the league following their cup runs just as Nantwich did last year. And Cleethorpes who bowed out in a replay last night find themselves in the relegation places in Division one East.
Solihull have a clear week following their game on Saturday. I’m sure the league could do more to help.
If the league had started 2 weeks earlier like North west Counties & Conference, then teams could have played 2 more saturday games & 2 less midweek league games.
