Witton Albion vs New Mills

Don,t do night matches and after that result, good choice .Clearly have no decent cover for Andy Firth and Ryan Ellison. To concede two goals to a team who have scored only eleven in twenty two games highlights that. As with Droylsden a few seasons back it just goes to show what a nice club Witton are to break their points duck for them.

To the people that pay there money to turn up and hurl abuse when a player doesn’t do what you want them to do look at the bigger picture as it doesn’t help. When you want a player to shoot at the edge of the box and they don’t it might have something to do with New Mills having 10 players behind the ball in front of the goal and if they shot and it went over you would then moan that they should of pass. So if you haven’t got anything constructive to say don’t on behalf of the fans that understand.

Talk about after the Lord Mayors Show…New Mills deserved their point tonight for their sheer grit and determination. As for the Albs a new centre back please and quick. Difficult to judge the keeper all he had to do was pick the ball out of the net a couple of times although I wish he was a few inches taller.

Albion looked a bit disjointed, but still had enough chances to win 2 games. There was certainly no lack of effort and determination. I think the result is down to a number of factors including the heavy pitch, tiredness after the efforts on Saturday and a reshuffled team. That said New Mills defended heroically at times, getting men behind the ball and blocking a number of goal bound opportunities. A couple of their front players also looked really useful and took full advantage of the opportunities that they created. New Mills gave it everything and on balance it would be harsh to begrudge them their point.

we really missed Ellison last night gutted to see his loan spell finish due to his injury will be tough to replace.
Someone who i feel isn’t good enough and sticks out like a sore thumb and it has shown in the last 3 games is Adam Carden … we were a completely different team when Titch replaced him he just didn’t look interested, he was slow and he just didn’t look as though he knew what he was meant to be doing

This might sound a bit silly but I’d rather have taken a point last night and had several superb performances prior to it than winning last night and being poor/average and not picking up as many points during that period. Always look on the bright side! UTA

We missed Ryan Ellison badly last night. But with a bit of luck we would have won the game . The players were not short on effort, we created more than enough chances to have won the game, i lost count of the number of efforts that were blocked. So we need not be too disappointed with the result, cos in the future lady luck will smile on us once more.

Exactly my thinking. The effort was there again for all to see and on another day we would have had all 3 points. Another point and unbeaten in the league for a while now which is excellent. Fair play to New Mills they didn’t play like a team that had lost 20 odd games on the run.

Shame Titch got injured as he played well in the short time he was on the field, hopefully he will be back soon.

Hard to judge new keeper yet but i though his kicking ability was fantastic.UTA
