Tames was lucky and stupid in the same moment, a red card would not have surprised me tbh, our players need to get a grip of discipline or it could cost us dearly especially when it is for petulence ! good players need to have that in control and think about the bigger picture.
Good solid performance and the first goal was an absolute cracker, well worked and finished. The team looked back to something like their best - which shows how good the first eleven is, but missing one or two players and we are not the same - so no foolish bookings or sending offs please !! Loads of games in hand that we need to turn into points, so lots of challenges ahead - but we can do it !!
Okay, I will stamp on your foot when you are not expecting it and see how you react. The fact is it is the cheats who need suspending for months, then they might stop doing it and refs and linesman.need to keep their eyes open.
AND.
thought our back 5 did well and there no.2 who was getting all the dwarf jokes was to me their best player and dundas took him off,so that just about sums up his lack of football knowledge.
Look a lot better team with Hopley and Tames up front ,both hold the ball up well and with Brad running from midfield we always look a threat, somtimes the final ball goes astray but when we get it right (the first goal yesterday) its like watching Brazil.
Thought the defence played well again Newcastle did a lot of huffing and puffing but I can’t remember them having a clear cut chance.
MOM for me Brad , never stopped working uses the ball well and looks like he’s enjoys playing .
Agree could do with another solid midfielder who can put his foot in and win the ball but this team playing well and I,ve not seen a team outplay us this season.
Good to do the double over Dundas
I had to Google Petulance CJ, using those fancy words an all :o|
Dundas wasn’t happy
Nobody has mentioned the double clean sheets over Newcastle!
Watching Newcastle yesterday was just like watching Witton under Dundass, little imagination and getting outplayed by the opposition.
I remember Dundass saying in his first statement as Witton Manager that he liked his teams to play attractive attacking football yet we never saw that and judging by the Newcastle performance yesterday nothings changed!
We played well for most of the game although it wasn’t our best performance yet the 3-0 scoreline flattered Newcastle as we could and should of won by more which is worrying for every other team in the league!
What Matt the cat said
I don’t know how they came to be 3rd
Third because they are hard, not frightened of mixing it.
WHS.
A good win and a performance that saw all the Witton players giving everything they had, as usual. Brad seems to run a marathon in every game with the ground he covers. I am confident this team will give us promotion this season.
From the Newcastle website. Its not complete (on their website) , but you will catch the drift…
A bitter pill to swallow after a good performance but little luck or an even break from the decisions of the referee.
An even start saw both teams battling for supremacy but defences held firm although Lee Cropper will wonder why the boot of the home keeper making contact with him was not punished during the early exchanges.
Both team got the ball down and were attempting to play fast flowing football and defences generally held firm until a slip by our defence ended with Bauress neatly finishing from 12 yards. Harsh on our lads! At this time Danny Cocks was replaced by Tom Urwin as he had hurt his back.
We got back into our flowing football and both Cropper and Baker had half chances and Joe Thomas was also prominent. During this time Sam Bradbury attacking and in the area was felled but neither the referee nor his assistant realised it should have been a penalty. Shortly after an incident off the ball ended with Tames only being cautioned when he clearly had flatted a visiting defender!
Half time came soon after and the home team had maintained their lead.
Half time
Witton Albion 1 Newcastle Town 0
Newcastle came out in determined fashion and attacking down both flanks caused the home defence to be on their best form. Thomas and Urwin were getting into good position down the right and several crosses were fired into the home area. Chris Baker, down the left, was also making telling progress into the home defence. A break down the left by the lively Witton Albion attackers ended with a tackle and an immediate award of a penalty by the referee. Bauress scored from the spot. Changes were made by manager Dundas and Beaumont and Agbor replaced Bradbury and
(must have gone to watch La La Land at this point)

Was he at the game? I know we all think we will go up, maybe via the playoffs but having not be overly worried about the backlog of fixtures they have grown it seems every week and I worry that two games EVERY week until the end of the season will be asking too much of part time players, the pros complain when they have to play the odd mid week game and they have big squads to fall back on. I would like us to win the league as play offs would mean two more games. We need to beat Shaw Lane home and away to have a realistic chance as few teams will take points off them. We have a great little squad, but that is the problem, it is a little squad. Still, ONWARD AND UPWARDS!!
WHS.
The person who wrote the article on the game representing Newcastle is on a different planet. Baker attacking, Cropper a threat, you must be joking. Their most attacking player was the left back. Did they even have a shot at goal? If they did it was easily dealt with by Danny in our goal. OK they huffed and they puffed but we were clinical and could have had more goals. I’m so pleased we done the double over this mob not a big lover of Mr Dundas and his crew.
Agree with Mr WHS every game that gets postponed now is a real threat to us winning the league. We could be playing 3 times a week if we are not careful. That’s unfortunately what success brings in a backlog of fixtures. We have a very strong 12 players but unfortunately we have such a wafer thing squad that its difficult when certain people are out. That’s why I was disappointed at another booking on Saturday. We can’t afford for players to get needlessly booked or sent off what ever the provocation we have to learn to walk away. Steve is a great player who we need on the pitch along with Rob this showed on Saturday when with Bradley our finishing was clinical. Steve and Rob never give defences a chance to relax they are at them all the time which is the difference for me when others have to come in.
Can’t be too critical though our management team are the best and so are the players!! Onward and Upward UTA. Lets hope we can play Lincoln today but it looks a bit dodgy out there at the moment!!

I do worry about you
If you can’t play, stop the other team from playing and that is obviously what they try to do.
WHS.
They were crap, Just like when we had that team (give or take a couple of players)
I’ve seen better play from teams at the bottom right f the table
What you say is true but just getting “stuck in” can get results in these lower leagues.
