Strange game that never really got going. However full credit to the lads for battling away and its great to get 3 points on the board on day one. B) Liked the look of the left winger and Roberts looked a class above, much more to come and many good signs today.
A tough opening game that we just edged with Titch scoring his first goal of the new campaign.
I thought we played some decent football, especially in the first half when we had a long spell of dominance. I think if we had scored then we would have grown in confidence. As the game wore on and with the score at 0-0, then Ossett started to gain a bit more belief and the game seemed to be growing into a stalemate. A defensive mistake, a chance for Titch which he took really well ultimately gave this new look side the points.
We are up and running, points on the board - at the start of day I would have settled for that :clap
A really hard fought win that just about deserved ! surprised at how good Ossett were tbh and made us work for the points. Of course we missed badly Danny Andrews for his creativity and goals /threat but I think there is more to come from us a few players didn’t sparkle at all today but at least they still worked hard but against better teams we will need to be a bit slicker on the ball and more creative, nice to see Titch getting on the score sheet and looking a threat that will do his confidence no harm. Onwards to Tuesday now and hopefully another 3 points ! UTA
A well fought win and a welcome 3 points. Titch looked the sharpest and hungriest than he has in a good while and Chris baker on the left never stopped running causing Ossett plenty of problems.

First game of the season it’s all about getting the win and the 3 points so we have to be happy with that outcome.
It was however a horribly turgid game between two teams that struggled to string together anything of consequence. Aside from Titch’s superb touch and attempted lob the game was devoid of quality. Titch looked reasonably sharp for the first game of the season.
You have to assume the team will only get better the more they play together and with Danny and schoey still to come back I’m still positive. Pretty good attendance too
on reflection I wonder whether we were - with so many new players a bit nervous and over eager to please ? hopefully with a few wins under our belt we might relax and play better football we do have some very good players for this level so expectations are obviously high and we don’t know yet how good Ossett will be ! UTA
Yes I think so CJ, it was a strange atmosphere today I’m not sure what the players were expecting and what the fans were expecting, a coming together if you know what I mean? A bit like when you meet your new boss for the first time  I thought there were good signs and once the team relaxes and gel a bit more it could be very promising. Don’t forget we also have danny and schoey to come back in two big players for us.
