Jamie Rainfords first was a tap in really following a clever step over by Danny Andrews neat goal really !
Great and very important win today, keeps us in touch with the two or three clubs we need to catch. Well done to the manager and all concerned. First one out of the four winnable games done!

Looking at the table and on current form if we get our act together it could be Stamford and Ramsbottom who get dragged in, I know Rammies have games in Had but they looked poor today and be suprised if they win that many tbh, a couple of wins and we will with Stamford also spit really could be in our hands ?
Great performance linesman was shocking ,actually threatened to punch gards in the first half gards laughed at him but by the face on linesman he meant it worrying thing is he only just out of prison for kicking a man in head who was out cold on floor
Todays’ win means we have only been beaten at home once since the end of October 2014, which was the 1-2 defeat by Workington in the middle of December. Wincham Park is slowly but surely becoming a fortress under Sully.
Well our two goals were very slick, well made and finished. Everyone was a bit nervy and although we could have scored more towards the end Ramsbottom might have scored too!
Very well done to all the players and everyone today, Lucas Molina I think adds something and again his encouragement of teammates is great to see, Rodden started to look more confident but well done to all really!
A much better end to end performance, lots of chances for the Albs and a few for Rammy. If we could have pushed it to 3-1 it would have better reflected the overall game.
At last we are winning the ball in the air and that’s really helping up front.
Well done all and same again next time too please
A good day at the office, we needed 3 points and we got 3 points
The only disappointment was a couple of times when we stopped running expecting a referees whistle that didnt blow, as a kid at school we were told play till you hear the whistle!
We have given ourselves a chance now and although other results went against us we still have massive games to come against our relegation rivals.
Looking forward to Trafford away next Saturday and i urge Wittoners to make the short trip and support the lads

I think all the forum comments have summed up the game pretty well, but I’d like to add some praise for Sam Barnes. He is not that tall but wins 90% of all the headers and he is a great calming influence. Joe Shaw was also quietly effective and I speak of someone who I don’t really rate, but the effort was spot on. Rainford is a hot and cold player, but when he is up for it his finishing is first class. The passing move for the 2nd goal was great, now we need more of it with the confidence that winning brings. Trafford is normally a happy hunting ground so let’s really go for another win next week.
Also, a great attendance, considering where we are in the league!
It was noticeable that several 1874 and Runcorn Linnetts fans helped to push the attendance level to a very reasonable 349.
It all helps to keep the finances on budget.
I believe there are more teams around us who may have to start off loading their better players in order to meet their budgets, which can only help us avoid relegation.

One or two thought on Saturday that our keeps should have saved their goal - looking at this I still think it was an absolutely cracking strike ( Coutinho’s goal for liverpool yesterday comes to mind and no one is faulting the Southampton keeper)
Was good to see the highlights because for Rams goals I turned to see it going in the net ! Opinion was our keeps could have done better - having seen it what a great strike and unless our keeper was 6ft 6 unstoppable, and the red card was fully deserved probably deserved a body slam ! UTA
Seems we have not heard the last of this confrontation. Did something happen in the Social Club after the game?
