Witton Albion vs Warrington Town.

Well played Witton, outplayed Warrington cloggers, 1-1 was a wrong score all day, Referee made a hash of decisions today, our penalty was a red card for the defender not a yellow, we should have had a second penalty that was given on the line as a free kick but was 1/2 a yard in the box and we were direct in line and to top it off Warrington penalty was a 50/50 challenge nothing more. Warrington deserved nothing out of the game. Andy Firth in the Witton never had a save to make Warringtons keeper saved several good chances for them including a penalty save. The only downer for Me was that we had so many chances and did not finish off the game but We did play well some lovely football and we look a different team now some very good performances all over the pitch, bring on the Green and white slime. UTA

Four wins and a draw from the last six games in all competitions. Up to 15th in the table as well.

Thoroughly enjoyed todays game and particularly the fight and spirit shown by the players from the 1st to 90th minute. Had it not been for the excellent Warrington keeper we would have been 4 or 5 up by the time they equalised. First time I’ve seen the winger (Menagh?) and thought he was excellent, our midfield bossed it and we looked much tighter at the back too.

Massive well done to the ground staff and all concerned for what seems was the only game that beat the weather in our league. This game gave us Wittoners some Christmas cheer and optimism for 2016, if they are one of the top teams in the league Carl can’t be too far off getting it right for us as we were by far the better side today  UTA

Brilliant today. 110% effort from each player. Should have won but that’s football. Very proud of that performance UTA

First game I’ve been for two or three months .Really impressed with effort put in by the squad now assembled by the manager. Agree with previous posters about the decisions that went against Witton and the Wires keeper being their best player. Did hear that the referee didn’t want the game played, .if that’s true after all the effort put in by the groundstaff and spectators making the effort to turn up maybe he should find himself a nice indoor sport to make a balls of.

Today was the first time I have been since the Radcliffe game. That was an absolute dreadful game with no passion, desire or creativity. What a difference today! The team set up and performance was as good as I have seen for a couple of years. The front four are going to be a handle for the rest of the season. Every player worked their socks off but a special mention to titch who was fantastic today

I must say I was gob smacked today…not by the teams performance, as I expected that performance having seen them win 5-1 against Brighouse the week before. No, it as the performance by the ground staff. I couldn’t belief the quality of the pitch after so much shit weather. I know they had some help from people like Jo and Neil (apologies if I have not mentioned you if you helped), but an absolutely fantastic performance by all who were there, forking like hell!

I am grateful that from the last 2 games I have witnessed, I have seen a major turning point in our fortunes, and what a delight it was to hear our fans chanting for the team today.

Everybody who was at the match can only agree that we were robbed, and given a fair rub of the green, we should have won easily, against a team 2nd in the league!

Th New Year looks promising, its just a bit worring that we cant make some of the excellent loan signings more permanent.

The first game in a long time that we have been the better side, echo above we were robbed by an absolutely disgraceful penalty decision from the referee, but can’t complain with the effort and quality of the football player at times. Not the finished article but credit to Carl for the way the team is heading, 2015 has been the worst 12 months I can ever remember in my time as a Witton fan for so many different reasons, but for me that’s gone now, roll on 2016

So refreshing to read all these positive comments after a depressing few months, i didnt get to see the game due to working on the bar but everyone came in and said we were robbed but played very well!
Onto tomorrow’s AWAY game tomorrow and im feeling a lot more confident than i was a month ago, lets get behind the lads and make plenty of noise!

UTA!!!

First of all I what a fantastic job the ground staff did to get the game on, a big thank you to them for their endeavours.
Secondly what a performance from Witton, they were the better side over the 90 minutes and but for a poor refereeing decision, some excellent goalkeeping from their keeper and the missing of several chances we would have won the game.It was a very good performance from every Witton player, they all showed real commitment and played the game as it should be played. Congratulations to Carl and his team and to the players. It is looking good for 2016. See you on Monday for that away game. UTA.
