great result. One step closer to the title methinks.
Was funny watching Pete Riley ring Worksop every 2 minutes trying to get a full time score! Great result for us, we’ve got to be wary of Gateshead though, if they recapture their early season form then they have the ability to run us close
Great stuff well done Worksop! This is the place we went too wet through pouring with rain showed a hell of a lot of character (both players and fans -intimidation!), and beat them 2 nil. I think I said at the time Fleetwood would not relish coming here on a cold damp Tuesday night. What we have to do now as everyone keeps saying is stay focused for the next game and get the 3 points. It ain’t going to be easy at Prescot a place we never seem to do well at so basically we have to work hard keep our shape and hope we get the rub of the green or mud in Prescots case and also follow that up against another bogie team the week after in Leek. A draw at Gateshead would be a great result and hopefully filleting the codpieces at our place for 3 points should then win us the league. I’m still a little worried about Guiusley though because we have to play then twice and they are winning again.
Other than that lets just stay focused and get behind the lads with greater vocal support we’ve been a bit quiet of late especially the Whitby game!
Yes it was that quiet you could hear " the pit of hate " moaning on the pop side !
I will be happier when Gateshead drop a point or two and after we have come away from Gateshead with the points. Prescott on Saturday is important, it is one of the away games we need to win to ensure promotion.
WHS.
Referring back to “ELI” and the “pit of hate”. I know I “MONA” to a lot of you on the terraces but I never have a go at the players verbally. I do try to shout encouragement to them even when they really cock something up. I know you pull my leg though sometimes and thats great because having been watching the club for fity years and knowing you for ages its just a big part of my life which I really enjoy!! I also agree with you a lot (both big admirers of the work Steve Brodie does that goes unnoticed a lot! the class defending of Mr T Barras). I just get nervous sometimes when we appear not to be playing well as in the first half on Saturday against Whitby but this is a great team who never seem to give up on anything and in fact seem to get better towards the end of games illustrating our above average fitness at this level.
Just hope we can secure all three points tomorrow and go on and get 3 more against Leek. A point at Gateshead and we’d all be over the moon. I’m sure our lads are focused because Jim and Nige encourage them. I just feel though that we can’t afford slip ups against our normal bogie teams this time like the Grantham, Leeks and Prescot away last year where we could only draw. The only thing is that this time the players who’ve come in this season are quality and have a better temperement (i.e they don’t get sent off for doing stupid things!) Lets get behind them and help make it happen and lets go up to the next league in style with the best behaved fans and the best players ever to grace the Unibond league!! C’mon the Albion!!
Oh one other thing I’m sure everyone has noticed. We’ve only let in 19 goals this season so far and we are now into March!! What a fantastic acievement this is. I just wonder if we can keep it under the 25 mark for the whole season. That would really be something and Chad might have to get the record books out to see how it compares!!

Aren’t Gateshead right at the top of their form now and winning every game (apart from one of course)?
The way they’re going at the moment it’s feasible that Gateshead could win all their games until the end of the season. We have to assume that and play accordingly.
Early season they were hammering teams out of sight! If they keep winning though they are definitely a threat
