Youth Team End Season in 7th Place

The Witton Albion Youth Team finished their season in 7th place in the North West Youth Alliance 12 team Premier League. A very respectable 2-2 draw last night against a tough Skelmersdale side was the final game for this set of U18s.
Goals from Jonathan Jones & Jacob Thompson
put Witton ahead only to be pegged back and take a point.

With nearly all players to old to play at this level next season, players will now be looking to see if they have wot it takes to step up into the reserve squad or move on to pastures New.

A lot of this team has been together since aged 6 and this has been fantastic to see the dedication & commitment in playing for 1 club for so long during the crucial development phase. I hope we can continue to develop these players and see some players in the 1st Team which would be a fantastic achievement

Bonez

I think all the fans hope a couple of players from the juniors do come through to the first team, if they are any good we will see in a year or two, good luck to them for next season. UTA

It was quite emotional last night as the side will be broken up but that’s football wen u get to a certain level. Some will progress and some will develop at other clubs
This is the hard part of football now in having to tell certain players they will no longer be required

Good luck for next season bonez, there are many like me who are very grateful for what you do for the club. Maybe a few of them will get a chance next season, UTA

Well done and thank you Bonez for the efforts you have put in to the difficult task of the reserves.

Sorry to hear that you won’t be involved next year and I wish you good luck for the future!
