1992 Re-Union 4th April

 The FA Trophy 1st Round tie v Billingham Synthonia in season 1991-92 was drawn 2-2 at Wincham Park, and the Albion won the replay 2-1 at their place.

Great night at the Re-Union. Thanks to everybody that organised it and those that worked on the night - but where was everybody - with this " FANtastic away support " perhaps we should have these doā€™s at Whitby or suchlike.

Think itā€™s best to say that those that didnā€™t show up missed out BIG time! Was great to see the squad of '92 again, I couldnā€™t believe how well they all still got on! Rumours of a Legends vs Supporters team are buildingā€¦!

Many thanks to all who attended last night and appeared, I felt, to have enjoyed the whole occasion.

Additional thanks to Simon, Robbo, Greg, Mark + Rachel and her staff.

Special thanks though to the heroes namely LEE COATHUP, JIM CONNOR, ANDY GRIMSHAW, MIKE LUTKEVITCH, KEITH MASON, JOE PALADINO, GARY STEWART & KARL THOMAS + KEITH HIGGINS who all really enjoyed the evening.

As a newcomer I really enjoyed the insight into Witton history.
I now feel a little bit more qualified to join in singing ā€œweā€™ve been to Wem-ber-leyā€
It was a very enjoyable and worthwhile evening with very professional presentation, (no rabbiting on!)

Excellent night with humour, professional presentation by Simon, and some insight into what went on at Wembley. I canā€™t tell you how fantastic it was to mix again with these true legends.
Gary Stewart - what a fantastic guy he is He was gutted not playing and to be honest I thought he should have played. Gary said the other lads helped him over his dissapointment but heā€™s a truly great guy and I thought he was a brilliant player at either full back or up front.
Keith Mason- Probably the best goalie Iā€™ve seen play for us in my fifty years of supporting the club. This guy just loves the club to drive all the way from Cumbria and talk with genuine feeling about the club speaks volumes.
Karl Thomas- I watched a sequence of goals Karl scored on the video screen. Just unbelievable it was nā€™t so much his speed over ten yards more his speed of thought in selecting the right option to take and then executing it like lightening to score. I told him as I walked past him you were hopeless son. He knew I was just pulling his leg and we shook hands.Fantastic Striker arguably again the best Iā€™ve seen in my fifty years of support.
Mike Lutkevich- Mike youā€™ll always be remembered for the goal at wembley but Iā€™ll always remember the tough guy who worked so tirelesly up front and scored goals for us always giving 100%. So pleased to see you on the night.
Andy Grimshaw- What can I say another true legend if it was a 70-30% ball for the oppostion in midfield "Rottweiler would win it. Together with Stu Anderson the two of them could run a midfield virtually on their own allowing people like Rosie and Lodgie to get forward. What impressed me Andy was again your love of our great club and the fact you look for the Witton result on a Saturday!
Jim Connor- Great player and a fantastic bloke too. He kicked a ball about Moss farm for 20 minutes with my then 8 year old son when training down there. This meant everything then to a little boy and of course this is one of the reasons why at 24, 16 years later Nick still supports the club. Jim a great player and a great ambassodour for the club and his discription of how he was so gutted in the Wembley dressing room after showed just how much he cared.
Lee Coathup Again great to see Lee though heā€™s also been around more recently. Thought he had one of his best games for us a Wembley and Lee again got over to us how much he loved playing for the club.
Joe Paladino- Joe you came over as a real character again someone who loves the club even now and it was essential for us to have good goalkeeper cover so even though you perhaps did not play as much as the others you did a great job and your stories were great
Keith Higgins- Heā€™s a big mate anyway who Iā€™ve known for fifty years. I can tell you younger fans that Keith was a great fullback who played 429 games for us. Heā€™s served the club in various capacities for 60 years but was Physio as well as an important cog in the football management team that got us to Wembley.Keith is the sort of bloke you respect and listen to as he knows footie inside out. You could also see that the football legends had this respect also!
All I can say is it was a privilage and an honour to see all these guys again and it goes without saying that the Red Carpet is alway there whenever you guys turn up at the club and lets hope you can do this on a regular basis!! Great night great people fantastic!!
I urge all Wittoners to support events like these as you learn a hell of a lot about our club and what makes it tick!!
