A great community club

Just think its time we all reminded ourselves of how good this club is…

On and off the pitch the club has been transformed in recent times. The performances on the pitch speak for themselves and i think there is more to come as this team has played very much within its best all season. Lets hope they can keep it going this season and beyond.

Off the pitch, Sprucey,Pete and all the other unsung hereos what a great job you have done with the playing surface. Its the best its ever been and a credit to you, the club and the league.

The lads involved in the junior albs set up and club shop also a big well done, it was the right time to bring it back and the members and numbers turning up are getting better game after game, keep it going and don’t take your eye off the ball.

JAP quielty going about his business with others ensuring we have full fans buses at away games, raising loads of money through the weekly predictions and the race nights and other things. The museum is the icing on the cake.

The chairman and board of directors, usually hammered when things are going wrong but not mentioned when things are ok, for their guidance and leadership.A big mention to the commercial director who has grafted to ensure as much money as possible comes into the football club.

The numerous volunteers on match days who sell programmes, work in tea huts, steward and offer their services for the love of the club a massive thank you.

To our programme editor and podcast king well done, a qulaity read and the most talked about podcast out there. If you havn’t listened do, this is a massive step forward in recent times of promoting the club locally and beyond.
To all our loyal fans and new ones thankyou for being there, please keep supporting and bring a friend or two.

To anyone i have missed sorry, but all the above makes Witton tick, makes the Witton heart beat, without them all we are nothing. If you are reading this and agree and can do anything to help from financial donations to giving your time and expertise on match and non match days please get in touch with the club. It is something once you are involved you will wonder why you didn’t do years ago. We are the community club in the town and we can be for a very long time if we carry on pulling and working together.

One club, one love, one WITTON, thank you. :clap

:clap :clap

Very, very proud to be a Wittoner.

This is only my second season as a wittoner but i have totally fell in love with the club. I only miss games when i have to work and i spend the rest of my time counting the days until the next game. I even had a tattoo done after the curzon match  Also my ten year old son is completely hooked and i look forward to the day he’s at the game with his mates and one day his kids too. The futures bright, the futures red and white! bowdown

Well said Club Shop. Very special guests coming down on Saturday so remember to cheer them on

Excellent post, and one which has been a long time coming.

Appreciate the sentiments.

Keep up the good work…everyone.

what a brilliant post from club shop. it really sums witton up as a forward thinking club in the community, with some fantastic people involved in all aspects of running a profesionally run football club. my thanks to all involved. :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

Agree with all the comments, Things are getting better and better on and off the field, can’t wait until Saturday.

Anyone who hasn’t listened to the podcasts is missing a treat - very informative and sometimes very amusing… Can someone ask Pritch to speak slower, I’m a soft southerner and I’m missing some of his ‘pearls of wisdom’ . Well done to all concerned regarding these interviews, they really help the fans with issues that are not voiced elsewhere.

Very good post Club Shop, I agree with nearly all the points.

I think the post re Directors is way off the mark, save for the chairman and commercial director, I think the lack of initiative and organisation in comparison to the acts of others is quite stark.

When for instance was the last time the Club organised an event? Or initiated any Fund Raising activities, or raised awareness of the club to the wider community?-too many directors who I haven’t a clue what they do tbh?

Agree re the other facets of the club being carried out fantastically well and so many others contribute their time and money freely without the ‘official recognition’ of position.

But to keep it on track there are loads of positives!

And with all the above in mind, today is a massive day for our club. Later another club with the towns name will be born, the defence of WITTON from today… The clubs owners may be changing but the fans one eyed nature hasn’t, don’t be fooled or taken in by their congratulations or best wishes onion the past 6 months, it’s all being said through gritted teeth. Their aim is to knock us off our perch and then some, it’s taken us long enough to do it to them, and I for one am not prepared for that to happen or help them in any way. This is a war we have to win.
We have to move forward, keep developing our links as we have done and look at new ways of developing our facilities old and new and be as good as we can. C’mon Wiiitttttttttttttoooooooonnnnnnnn

Thanks for those kind words Cuddy ! great to know your behind the board.

A word of warning - now is not the time to get complacent.

We need more people getting involved and helping the Club, both on match days and also behind the scenes.

Standards in some areas are at risk of being allowed to slip.

Let’s not have a wobble when we should be at our strongest.

Bring the point up next time you attend a board meeting Andy

Not invited Tof/Noel Bradley/Ex Director anon!!! When invited i spoke my mind and represented the supporters, and tried to show a pragmatic and business like manner, but there gets to a point where theres no use knocking!

Again supporting anon Club Shops points entirely re a fantastic bunch of people doing great jobs all round without singing and dancing about it!

PM me if u want a debate though rather than it clog up the forum!

I was talking to Andy Lomas ??
