Again, due to the crap weather, Abbey Hey’s summer maintenance is not up to time. Therefore the friendly is off.

Well I guess all those that said we had too many friendlys lined up will be happy! Will be a bit harder to spot any potential strars amonst the trailist now, I’m guessing we will need to play the full team for most of the remaining friendlys now to get a pattern going.
At this rate, thanks to the awful weather conditions we will be going into the league season with hardly any preparation at all.
I can never remember things being this bad in all of my 30 plus years of following the Albion.
The whole of last season had minimal postponements. Two or three as I remember.
To have friendlies called off in July doesn’t augur well.

I think its a bit rich criticising Abbey hey for their pitch preparations - we need to look closer to home in that department.

That said we still need to look at what happens at Wincham Park - whilst its been a wet summer so far our pitch should still be ready - and in making that statement I am not having a pop at Sprucie.
We always seem to have an uphill battle in getting the playing surface to the standard that befits the team playing on it. Given that we have two teams plus umpteen other matches being played we really do need to get this one sorted. If that means canning end of season games for other teams and associations that run after our season has finished - then so be it. We are losing revenues anyway by not being able to stage our own games.
