The recent disappearance of one of the most important threads ever and the response from our wonderful webmaster Mike surely should be one for concern of all 995 currently registered users.
Mike’s explanation seems to be that one of our users, with Admin status, was probably responsible for this particular removal.
Can I therefore publically ask if there is a log available of when and which users are on-line?
The thread in question must have been deleted around the time the “two new posts” that ended with the same heading. ie Saturday tea-time.
If there is then whomever has Admin status, and I can’t imagine too many do, needs to clarify what exactly they did together with the reasoning behind it.
It wasn’t me, honest. Takes me all my time to log on!!!
WHS.
This is an important issue.
Editing of threads and postings needs to be transparent. In the current climate removing an entire thread has the potential to create suspicion.
I have written elsewhere that it is entirely legitimate for Admins to edit or remove inappropriate posts if they breach forum rules. However, much of what was written was entirely appropriate and heartfelt.
It is patronising to remove a thread so that it cannot be read by those who come to this board.
There may be a legitimate reason for removing postings. I for one would like to hear the motive for the removal of this thread.

I have to agree, I post on many different forums and removal of threads unless offencive is looked upon very dimly !!
Have we got to the bottom of this? Or is freedom of speech no longer the raison d’etre of this board?
Greenie - you do talk some rubbish.
