AFC Halifax

I notice our ex boss has been busy on the the transfer market securing the services of Matt Wooley, Adam Morning and Ross Clegg. He also wants to speak to Tony Barras when he returns from his hols

You missed Doryll Proffit off the list too Baggie!

A very imaginative piece of scouting from our former manager… inspired! Most of these players were felt to not be good enough for our first team previously but I suppose when you have only 4 weeks to assemble a brand new team it is hardly a surprise. Dean Crowe will be next!

what about dean craven griff jones and rob lloyd

Very interesting to see a certain Mr.J.Vince watching the pre-season friendly between Abbey Hey and Altrincham this afternoon.

No doubt a certain A.Danylyk will have relished seizing the opportunity of competing in a Conference Premier side whilst Mr Vince is preparing for the new season a few leagues lower…

From Halifax newspaper:

Town game off to make way for Fax top-of-the-table TV clash

FC Halifax Town’s friendly with Droylsden, scheduled for Thursday July 31, has been postponed to allow Halifax RLFC’s potential National League Division One title decider with Salford at the Shay to be brought forward and screened live by Sky Sports.
Town had asked Droyslden for a change of date or venue but the Blue Square North side were unable to find one.

“We appreciate Halifax RLFC could do little about the change and we wish them well and hope they pick up the points in the televised fixture,” said Town general manager Angie Firth in a statement.

I wonder if they want to play us instead?

I think that Mr Danylyk should make the most of this season…

This a good one!!!

Railway face their first pre-season friendly away to Barnoldswick Town later this week. But two players who won’t be donning the red and green strip are [b]Ben Jones /b and Joe Brown, who have decided to make the switch to The Shay.

BEN JONES??? Am i bovvered!!!

Look at this face, am I bovvered???

Ben Jones, 73 clubs in a week!!

See they got off to a flying start yesterday with a 2-0 defeat in their first friendly away at Tamworth. Never mind hey, hopefully plenty more losses to come!

What a start! Two defeats in three days following the 1-0 reverse to Bury Reserves at home tonight.

the board of directors will be expecting quick progress just like the board at bradford p.a. last season. if mr.vince doesnt start well i think he could be out of a job quite quickly. perhaps he will be back at styal next season.

Ben Jones has now left AFC Halifax after one game  and is expected to sign for Harrogate AGAIN!!

Now signed Jon Kennedy.

Well that’s one i didnt see coming - Halifax have already got about 5 keepers on their books!

Well my mates brother got signed to Droylesden from Blackpool on £800 a week recently so im not suprised that JK has had an early exit from there as i doubt they would pay that much for a backup keeper. He should of stayed with us now really. Think the other 3 Liam, A.Brown and Coo wont be over the moon at the moment either as they are not currently making the starting 11.

possible contenders for halifax?.

I would expect so before the end of the season…

Would not be suprised to see Warlow and Peers there in a couple of seasons time either.

They lost again today, should we answer this question on the Halifax forum? they got the wrong man, we’ve kept the best coach!

“What a pathetic display. Except for first 10 minutes of second half and last 10 minutes of second half we couldn’t/didn’t want to attack. How was it that Witton played great attacking football under JV and yet apart from the Trafford game we cannot do the same? Remember this side lost 5-2 at home to Skemerdale on Tuesday and yet we are incapeable of forcing their keeper into making a serious save. TOTAL RUBBISH!!!”

I’ve just come across this gem of a post on the Halifax forum under the thread Vince Out:

“Ive met Vince on sereval occasions and I think he is a good manager someone who fits in well with how Halifax is…hes no bullshitter will tell you the truth to your face and I think the honeymoon period for everyone is now over”

That’s comedy gold!

We bumped into JK at our Middleton pick up point. He travelled all the way to Lancaster. and didn’t get a game!
