Albion announce two new signings

Marc Joseph

Marc is a 6ft centre half with a long league pedigree. Starting his career at Cambridge United he made 153 appearances for them before moving to Peterborough United in 2001. He moved on to Hull City where he made 89 appearances scoring once. He also went on to play for Bristol City, Blackpool and Rotherham United in the league before joining Altrincham in August 2010. Marc went onto sign for Kendal Town in the summer of 2011 where he made over 50 appearances and was the club captain.

Marc is also a current international playing for Antigua & Barbuda. He has 12 international caps making his debut against Saint Kitts & Nevis. He also featured in world cup qualifiers against Cuba.

Jason Oswell
Born 7.10.1992
20 Year old striker Jason joins us after his release from Nantwich Town. He started his career with Crewe Alexandra in 2011 and spent a loan period with Rhyl. He moved to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in June 2012 and he made his Scottish Premier League debut on 11th August 2012 where he featured as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock. After a handful of times on the bench he next featured in the 4-0 win against Dundee United. He was released by mutual consent in January 2013 and quickly joined up with Nantwich Town. This was his second spell at Nantwich after a brief spell on work experience where he scored three goals in eight appearances.

Pritch’s reaction to the signing and quotes

Great work from Pritch, looking forward to seeing our international star!

If he’s as good as Tony Barras was for us at that stage of his career, it’s a very good signing.

As for Oswell, the last former Crewe junior we signed wasn’t bad was he…?

Can’t argue with that, exactly what we needed a old head at the back to steady us when we come under pressure and a young hungry striker (hopefully not in the Martin Ormesher way!) to challenge the front two for their places, if he puts in half as much effort as Titch did he will still be quality at this level.

That’s not the new centre half is it?

Marc Joseph is an excellent signing. Was superb for Kendal in the FA Cup game last year. A very good defender and experienced professional.
