Albion v Farsley
12 games to play, 5 at home 7 away but only 1 game against a team in the top 6 (Lancaster); we must have a good chance of winning promotion surely in the position we are in and the team we have got, no “Iffs or Buts”!!!

Should have plenty of support at Lancaster too with it being the bank holiday.

Appreciate the passion but a bit more vocal support on the day instead of dissecting every players game in detail may actually be more helpful ! I very much doubt anyone actually tries to give the ball away .its a bunch of young lads not man utd or arsenal or lpool on display.

Totally agree. People need to remember the lads read these forums and I bet they sometimes question whether the fans are for them or not. Let’s get behind the team and show them what a difference the fans positivity can make.

Maybe a very good point about the team age, I had that discussion on saturday ( I think unknowingly with one of the players dads  ) and apart from a few we are a very young side which might explain the inconsistency, I dont think anyone wants to knock players really but it is frustrating at times when we know how good we are potentially, so agreed we should cut them a bit of slack and get behind them more - by the way I never shout at or down to players at the match but at my age I will leave the singing to the youngsters, and stick with shouting words of encouragement. I think if any of the players are reading this then or they will see is how much each and every one of us cares about the club and hopes that this current batch of players delivers the success we have all been hoping and praying for for god knows how many years now.

If they wonder whether the fans are behind them, then all they need to do is turn up at the ground a couple of hours early on a match day and see how much work is going on behind the scenes to give them a platform to play on every week.

Hours and hours of effort are put in every week by so many of us, many people donate significant amounts of cash, and those who have neither the spare time nor the cash do whatever little bit they can to support the football club that they love. That they have probably loved for longer than they can remember.

So i don’t think there is even the slightest doubt that we are all behind them, and that we will continue to be behind them until the last ball is kicked this season - and then again next season, and the season after that too.

Whether we finish 1st or last that wont change the fact that we will be behind them.

But when we watch a performance that we don’t think reaches the level we know this team is capable of (and let’s be honest, that’s more praise than it is criticism), then we’ll moan about it, post about it, tweet about it, kick the cat, say we’re never coming back again, and throw our Witton scarf to the back of the wardrobe.

And then a week later we’ll be back on the terraces going through it all again. Shouting ourselves hoarse, spending money we can ill afford, and putting ourselves closer to an early grave.

That’s football fans for you, and we’ll never change.

Robbo, your missive should go in the programme for ALL to read, absolutely brilliant, especially the fact that we all get fed up, swear we will never come back then turn up week after week. Well done.

Well the passion was never in doubt !! But home games( at which should be a fortress),the likes of skelmersdale make more noise ! Just seems strange

It’s not strange really. Our home form generally hasn’t been good enough. The last few home games (other than v Curzon) we have never really got going, and as a result neither have the supporters. When we went a goal down on Saturday the team seemed to find another gear, seemed to show a bit more urgency, and the noise levels behind goal increased.

All it takes is a good shot on goal, or a full-blooded challenge, and the excitement levels rise and the fans respond to that.

We don’t expect to win every week, we’ll support the team in defeat - we were as loud at 4 - 1 down against Barrow as we would have been at 4 - 1 up! - we just need something to grab hold of.

But let’s not use the noise levels as a reason for not performing on the pitch. I was at Curzon, and their fans never sang once, yet they have a damn good home record. Cammel Laird came and beat us without a needing to hear their supporters singing.

Witton fans are the best in the league, let’s not start criticising us for not making anough noise at home - at least we continue to pull good crowds. How much noise do you think Woodley fans make at home?

Supporters will vocally back a team that is giving them some excitement. That is the case at any level of football, not just at Witton.

But, Forever And Ever, start us a song off next home game and we’ll all join in. Even if we’re losing.

We need more songs.

How about some Jessie J?

It’s all about the Sheehan, Sheehan, Sheehan
The green pot that we wee in, wee in, wee in
We just wanna go see Witton,
Vics are getting s*** on

All about the (uh) Ta-Titch Ta-Titch
All about the (yeah) Pa-Pritch Pa-Pritch
Wanna rock the Evo,
Gonna win the league yo

Needs some work.

Needs a LOT of work!!!
WHS.

let’s sing about WITTON not v**s. after all that is what we are. i cringe every time the green and white pot is mentioned, we are better than that. we are witton so let’s sing about us, and not some soon to be defunct team’s team. come on witton.
