Good attendance again today, pity about the result. We lacked a bit of class today still 1 - 1 was a fair reflection of the game. Still seem content to keep pumping high balls which we don’t have a chance of winning. Lets put a big bid in for Peter Crouch and then we can pump as many high balls in the air as we want! Seriously though we are in a great position in the league so lets move on to Tuesday and a win at Clitheroe would be the best tonic of the lot! SBL

High balls are great for drinking but not for lobbing on an afternoon like today especially when we don’t have Peter Crouch at the front. Second balls, what happenend to them? not one won ?

I didn’t think we were up to much today and we were lucky to come away with a point IMO. We’re not showing enough consistency recently, we’re gonna have to put a winning run together at some point before the end of the season or else play-offs may not be in our diaries!

Don’t think the 4 changes from Tuesday helped. Maybe 1 too many imo. We need to start taking our chances had a couple first half as we did on Tuesday. They go in both would have been very different results. We need to play to our strengths and stop lumping long high balls up to our forwards. 4 games away from home now in the league possibly a blessing.

2 of the changes were enforced due to Josh Hancock carrying a knock, and Anthony Gardner not recovering from a dead leg.

a disappointing performance, but in the end relieved to get a point. why do we insist on playing high balls upfield when we have no chance of winning them.we should be playing to feet and playing football as we did when we went on a 12 match winning run earlier in the season, since then we seem to have been relying on the high ball up front and losing possession and putting the defence under needless pressure. the result being we are dropping too many points. so please let’s revert to what we do well, play to feet and get back to consistancy. come on witton.

The high ball upfront is the easiest option when a defender or midfielder looks up and sees no options. It happens at every level - it’s why England fail in tournaments.

I think we need to go back to basics, as you say go back to doing what we do well. The only problem with this is that teams aren’t letting us play anymore, they are putting us under pressure and as result we are hitting long speculative balls.

I think yesterday i would have gone with Clamps in the middle, but at the same time i understand why we went with James. The biggest miss was Gards. It’s no coincidence that he wasn’t playing at fullback against Skem either.

We don’t have flying wingers, so our fullbacks are vital. Without them we struggle to get any real width and penetration.

I think work needs to be done on the training pithc on moving the ball quicker. But the biggest thing hindering that will be if the players are feeling any pressure or a lack of confidence. Pritch and Mose have got experience of being in this situtaion, so hopefully they can pull us out of this little mini-rut we have gotten ourselves into.

I personally think we need to start trying to draw teams onto us and hit them on the break - give Titch the room to get in behind defenses like against Alty, Barrow, etc etc etc. At the minute we are just playing across teams, and they are dealing with it pretty well. It comes back to needing a plan B at times - a centre forward who is good in the air.

With the squad we now have i honestly think we should be closer to the top than we are. Some tough games coming up, so let’s see if the players feel the same way.

Absolutely no reason why we can’t go on a massive winning run.

It would be devestating if we didn’t do ourselves justice now.

Things can change so quickly in footba; had we won our last 4 games, which was perfectly possible we would have had 7 more points and been favourites to take the title. The reason we are still in the mix is other teams are dropping points too. Whoever goes on a winning run from now on will win the title; I see no reason why it can’t be us. As for “Big Boot Football”, let’s leave that to V…s

This was what NP had said the day before the game:

Farsley face third placed Witton Albion on Saturday and Parsley revealed that he will change from his usual tactics in an attempt to combat their playing style.

“Witton are a good side. In my eyes they’ll finish in the top three along with Curzon and Fylde. We had a good 1-0 win over them earlier this season at home.

“They’ve got pace, they break quickly at sides and I’m going to be making a few changes on Saturday to combat that and there’ll be a different system on show. Whether it works for us only time will tell but I will be setting up a bit differently.”

It’s both a compliment to us and a problem for us.

sorry chaps but i thought this was a good point against good quality opposition.I think Neil was quite happy to walk away with a point but maybe could have escaped with all three points.

Our debut boy played very well and Chris G showed what a quality player he is at this level.

It felt a flat game, largely contributed by the very experienced opposition whom always looked capable.

I thought Farsley set their stall out not to loose but at times showed on the counter attack why they are up their with the best.

Tough game point very even,we all go home home happy.

I missed the game however there seems to be a lot of hysteria whipping up on the board. In the past 3 weeks we’ve played teams who are there or thereabouts. Yet there seems to be this opinion that it’s a done deal that we will blow it.

It’s only 7 points to 2nd and look how Curzon have bottled it in the past few weeks.

Let’s get behind the team and be positive. Winning the league is still achievable. Play offs is even more achievable.

Not sure I agree about a good debut for Stott ( at least he scored ) or Chris G playing well he gave the ball away an awful lot, nothing I saw impressed me from anyone really, quite a poor display to be honest compared to how we can play, pleased to come away with a point, credit to Farsley they played pretty well and as others suggested had a game plan that worked, we did do better when Liam came on we showed a bit more life and he won a few headers.

Why did we take penalties off Sheehan ? is Stott a specialist pen taker ( it didnt look it  ) playoffs are definitely not a given with our inconsitency and a host of hungry teams chasing us, but in this league evryone can and will drop points, of course we should be the the favourites in our position and I hope 3 points on tuesday consolidates that.

Well said Rabbit.
WHS.

Sounds like u have had a bad weekend CJ ( Lpool losing and Utd winning ? )

Tough ask for winning the league but the manager has experienced this situation before and knows what is to be done.

Stay positive !

12 games to play, 5 at home 7 away but only 1 game against a team in the top 6 (Lancaster); we must have a good chance of winning promotion surely in the position we are in and the team we have got, no “Iffs or Buts”!!!
WHS.

Eli,Witton is my main focus by a long long way and this generally sets my mood, followed by Liverpool and then hopefully V**S and Utd losing.

WHS I hope you are right, and I do agree we should eat the playoffs and probably finish third, but then its anyones guess, we can be beat we know that and it will be down to us as ever to perform on the day if we do then we can win the playoffs. UTA
