Albion v Grantham

Thanks to @simmo_on_sport for the updates:

Team: Cooper (GK), Gardner, Ben Harrison, Cross, Clayton, Jamie Harrison, Sheehan, Fallon, Andrews, Tuck and Foster.

Bench: Booth, Hancock, Shaw, Moseley and Stott

Clayton, a sub in midweek, stands in for suspended (and injured) Mathew Wood. Josh Glover (groin) is still out, but Paul Booth is a sub.

0-1 according to Flash scores… :frowning: .

Ref having a shocker. Game had to be stopped for US to change into an old away kit so that we didn’t clash with our visitors. We are going to then have to change kit again at h/t because the one we are in now has UniBond badges on it.

Yep, 0-1 after penalty to Grantham 33mins

Andrew Simpson reckons our rhythm has been disrupted by the kit change.

And, we’ve just been denied a clear penalty for handball. :red

Any updates? Are we having “one of those days”?

Josh Hancock is on for Jamie Harrison, and Joe Shaw has come on for Rory Fallon.

Oh, and we are now wearing blue.

This must be a nightmare - I thought this was a cast-iron 3 pointer… :frowning:

Grantham break away in last minute to make it 0-2 FT

Witton have a clear, cut and dried case for this game to be replayed. The referee does not have a leg to stand on.

In league fixtures the away team changes strip in the event of a clash. Grantham know that Witton play in red, therefore they are at fault for bringing a red kit. The referee should have ordered Grantham to change strip. If they did not have a spare, then they should have requested to borow one of Witton’s.

For a team to play in three different coloured shirts in the same game quiet clearly will have had a detrimental effect on them. The game should be replayed, no arguments.

What does it matter what colour kit you play in? Sounds like the ref made a mistake, but so what? The game will not be replayed.

The colour per se does not matter, but to play in three different colours in a game will clearly have had an effect!

Witton were the home team, in league games it is always the away team that changes. I hope Witton put in an immediate complaint and demand the game be replayed.

Although Witton should not even have to complain, surely the league management committee will order a replay on hearing the facts of the case.

Mike

Do you know where this is in rules as I have spent last hour trying to get to the bottom of it?

I agree that it’s always been that way but not sure of official stance.

Fa should however be billed for extra cost of cleaning kits

Question - how does a team change so much in the course of a few days??

Today we were beaten by a very ordinary team, but as with Skem we still persisted in pumping aimless high balls to no one in particular. We have the smallest team since the demise of Lilliput fc , I can’t see the logic.

Some of the free kicks and corners were truly awful today and this must be sorted out as a priority. Really good attendance again, but we deserve better.

Taken from the FA National League System Rules - Season 2012/13 :

7.2 When the registered colours of shirts shorts or socks of two competing Clubs are alike or similar the visiting Club shall change the relevant item to a colour which does not clash with the corresponding item of the home Club. Neck and cuff trim colours on shirts shall not be regarded as a basic colour for the purpose of this Rule.

Subject to the foregoing a Club may, if they wish, wear colours not registered with the Competition for away matches. It is the responsibility of the visiting Club, if they do not intend to play in their registered colours, to notify the home team and check that their colours will not clash.

We were very poor again today bangwall

The referee DID have a shocker without a doubt, but the main reason we lost is that we simply weren’t good enough.

I honestly have no idea we’re so inconsistant. How do we go from outstanding to terrible so quickly?

Good gate though, positives and all that.

Seems like we have a bad ref every other week but it was pretty terrible today. Video replays may show the liner was spot on with every offisde, but it seemed everything went against us today. That said, we didnt create an awful lot, as somebody said, win one, lose one. On to Eastwood which should be a nailed on victory
