Ref having a shocker. Game had to be stopped for US to change into an old away kit so that we didn’t clash with our visitors. We are going to then have to change kit again at h/t because the one we are in now has UniBond badges on it.
Witton have a clear, cut and dried case for this game to be replayed. The referee does not have a leg to stand on.
In league fixtures the away team changes strip in the event of a clash. Grantham know that Witton play in red, therefore they are at fault for bringing a red kit. The referee should have ordered Grantham to change strip. If they did not have a spare, then they should have requested to borow one of Witton’s.
For a team to play in three different coloured shirts in the same game quiet clearly will have had a detrimental effect on them. The game should be replayed, no arguments.
The colour per se does not matter, but to play in three different colours in a game will clearly have had an effect!
Witton were the home team, in league games it is always the away team that changes. I hope Witton put in an immediate complaint and demand the game be replayed.
Although Witton should not even have to complain, surely the league management committee will order a replay on hearing the facts of the case.
Question - how does a team change so much in the course of a few days??
Today we were beaten by a very ordinary team, but as with Skem we still persisted in pumping aimless high balls to no one in particular. We have the smallest team since the demise of Lilliput fc , I can’t see the logic.
Some of the free kicks and corners were truly awful today and this must be sorted out as a priority. Really good attendance again, but we deserve better.
Taken from the FA National League System Rules - Season 2012/13 :
7.2 When the registered colours of shirts shorts or socks of two competing Clubs are alike or similar the visiting Club shall change the relevant item to a colour which does not clash with the corresponding item of the home Club. Neck and cuff trim colours on shirts shall not be regarded as a basic colour for the purpose of this Rule.
Subject to the foregoing a Club may, if they wish, wear colours not registered with the Competition for away matches. It is the responsibility of the visiting Club, if they do not intend to play in their registered colours, to notify the home team and check that their colours will not clash.
Seems like we have a bad ref every other week but it was pretty terrible today. Video replays may show the liner was spot on with every offisde, but it seemed everything went against us today. That said, we didnt create an awful lot, as somebody said, win one, lose one. On to Eastwood which should be a nailed on victory
