Albion v. Skelmersdale

All the best today lads.

Not been down for ages for various reasons, was going to make my ‘comeback’ today then my ####### car packed in late last night so I’m stuck in Middlewich. Any chance of updates from anyone?

COTA

We are without defensive lynchpin Paul Booth, so Matt Woolley comes in. Anthony Gardner will play at heart of the back line.

Line-up:

Cooper (GK), Woolley, Gardner, Harrison, Wood, Andrews, Sheehan, James, Hancock, Titchiner and Newman.

After 25mins-ish:

Durham 1-1 Fylde
Farsley 0-1 Curzon
Witton 0-0 Skem

Skem have had 3 players booked

Must be half-times now…

Durham 1-2 Fylde
Farsley 0-1 Curzon
Witton 0-0 Skem

Both other contenders winning away at difficult venues! COTA!

We’ve just gone 0-1 down :frowning:

0-2 down

Fylde and Curzon both still winning away - looks like title challenge over barring an amazing comeback this afternoon :frowning:

Anthony Sheehan scores a twice taken penalty to halve arrears after Danny Andrews was tripped in the box. Now 1-2.

Is it possible?

Answer = no

Lost 1-2. Both Curzon and Fylde won away - Bad Day at Black Rock!

420 today. Despite the result, fantastic attendance!

Congrats to Robbo and Grazzer for organising the rugby lads coming down, must’ve been 40-45 of them, so even without them, still a great attendance.

Why is it when we get extra people through the gate we invariably not only lose but play awful? We won in a high wind last time scoring against the wind but we hardly had a shot with the wind, same again today. Touch football is lovely, but not in a gale, I counted just one really good long shot, and I think that was from our right back, learn from it please.
WHS.

agreed, they keep calling for people to turn up,but witton teams cant play in front of a crowd. They have done it for years now,and have already done it twice this season,so please stop doing it! anyone who only goes to these games, goes away thinking,im not missing anything.

A poor display to be honest, Skem deserved the win, we were disjointed and lacking in passion compared to them they definitelty wanted it more only Sheehan looked anything like it, did not really understand the subs today Gaghan was too late and why take titch off when we nneded a goal, sadly the long break did not make us fresh - it did the opposite we were rusty our worst passing display of the season, i hope the new player mentioned in the program is god one who can make a difference, maybe a centre half to replace boothy who seems to have injury concerns to often, we cannot rely on a full back stepping in it changes us to much, only plus point was seeing clampett on the come back trail but it will take a while for his fitness levels to return. it now looks like playoffs for the albs

Boothy wasnt injured, he had flu. I don’t think he has missed many games through injury to be fair?

Yes I agree -think that is a bit harsh on Boothy!! For me we need to strengthen up front another striker is needed to keep up the challenge!!

Poor performance in front of a good crowd. Don’t think the conditions helped to make it a good spectacle. Midfield was very poor apart from Sheehan who was once again easily our best player. The forwards had little service but titch was working hard. Our defence couldn’t handle there no.9 who was a handful all game. If we seriously want to go up cant afford to play like that again! Frustrating lack of effort from a couple not good enough. We need to get back to winning ways and put a run together till end of the season. Nothing less than 3 points next week will do. We showed that first half against curzon away, played them off the park.

UTA

Agreed maybe a bit harsh, sorry boothy, but still think we need a centre half agree with others that a few yesterday did not put the effort in which is never acceptable but dont need to name names im sure pritch is aware.

Very harsh on Boothy CJ,totally disagree with you. there are not many better at this level.
Must agree with redfan Titch definately needs a foil up front and the widemen need to sharpen up.
However if you told me at the begining of the season we would be challenging for a play-off spot after 27 games I would have been made up.

You are reading me wrong on boothy i am not saying he is not good enough but we have had too many games where he or ben have not been avaialble and we look poor for it so we need a third centre back (thats my point ! ) in the squad not moving a full back in there who is not natural if he is better/quicker than boothy then all well and good a bonus.

I can tell you right now CJ, you are dead wrong about Ben not being available, at least in the League. Ben has started every single League game this season.
