Albion v Stalybridge

So, 1-1 then. Not a very incisive report here on Celtic’s web-site: http://www.stalybridgeceltic.co.uk/report.php?fixid=10551

Look forward to a better (more balanced, more thorough) report on here!

We started the game very brightly and for the first 30 mins we were all over Bridge. I think they seemed surprised by how we got after them and didn’t allow them any time on the ball. The opening goal was well deserved with Smith capitalising on an underhit back pass. We then started to give away a few free kicks around the box as Bridge started to push us back and Jody Bannon scored with an excellent shot round the wall just on the stroke of half time.

Second half Bridge probably had more of the ball, but there were very few dangerous moments for Albion. We played generally well and had some decent periods of attacking play ourselves. A draw was a fair result in my view and given Bridge are 2 leagues higher was probbaly a better result for us than Bridge.

One low point - Frosty went off injured after about 30mins. Really hope he is OK and it was precautionary. On the up side it was good to see Super Mike looking so well. Here’s hoping he is kicking a ball in earnest before too long.

A pretty good display imo, plenty of fight and skill on show, considering the opposition it bodes well again, frosty injury was i understand a tight calf muscle and was precautionary, mike was in good form, he has to have the pin removed later in the year but is keeping fit and hopes to plays some part in the second half of the season which will be brilliant, even the tea bar has improved with nescafe on offer so all going in the right direction, with pete heler and adam foy to come back also then bring it on.

Praise given (on the Official Site )to Knutsfordian for his report on the Stalybridge friendly. Well done ! WHS take note !

I take offence to that comment Eli, apart from my justified comment about young Matt Wood I have been extremely supportive of the team this close season. What I won’t do is ignore a bad attitude, and that was what Matt showed that night. I will be the first to cheer if, through his efforts since then, he gains a place in the final squad.

I cannot really understand the aggression on forums if someone gets something out of place or a spelling wrong or someone rambles a bit ? it takes seconds to read and the odd ramble adds colour imo so lets just all let everyone post a view however so long as its not too personal, and if you have a different view then have a debate if you dont like the style of the post then so what just ignore it - we are all wittoners after all now if its a v***s fan then get stuck right into him

Here here! or is it hear hear! - let’s have an interesting debate

How did it finish today? Just got in an hour ago from Pott Shrigley, what a place to find with no Sat Nav!
