Oh, and Citeh 1-2 Sunderland!

Second half goals from Hancock and Titch. Late consolation for Sports. FT 4-1

My grandson watched the first half before he got fed up which is not bad for a 4 year old, I half expected to be taking him home after 10 minutes. Must be thye quality of the football.

We were far better than Woodley today. They are an ordinary team with little “final product”. We need to get out of this league we are currently in and be the number 1 team in town!!! Can this team be the one to see the renaissance of Witton Albion? I really hope so. Only time will tell! Onward and Upward. SBL

Have to agree that i thought Woodley were poor considering their league position. However, the game was won so early that i think we killed them off without ever having to get out of 3rd gear.

Good to see the goals being shared around.

Brilliant effort by everybody involved in Project 500. OK, we didn’t hit the number we were hoping for, but i think we all knew it was extremely ambitious. 400 is a great figure, and so many other clubs at this level would be overjoyed at getting even half of that.

Like everybody else i get frustrated at times when we drop what i feel are stupid points, but then there are other times when i am so proud to be a Wittoner.

For me it’s the little things that make this such a great place to be on a Saturday. Mark Buchan’s family were in the shop today, they travelled all this way to support Mark and also Witton. Mark’s dad has been hunting out a programme where Mark was the featured player, today i managed to give him about half a dozen copies of it!

We had a junior team on the pitch at half time today, which is always great to see. But the bit that goes unnoticed is the 10 minutes of his busy day that Pritch gives up to have a chat with the lads, show them the dressing room, and pose for a photo. I have to say that he is always brilliant when it comes to this.

By the time i got out of the shop tonight the stadium was largely empty, apart from Mike Moseley and his little lad having a kick about on the pitch. It felt a world away from seeing Mike break his leg in the same goal mouth.

And then after the game i was speaking to programme editor Jamie in the bar. Jay is a Darlingon fan who just happened to edit our programme as a favour to Pritch. He told me today though how much our little club has gotten under his skin. How he loves being here, and what a great bunch of supporters he thinks we have.

The league title may be all but out of reach now for us, but as somebody pointed out to me today “if you had fun, you won”.

Compared to other clubs, i think we’re definately winning.

Terrific result there today well done to all. Have to say 400 is a superb crowd at this level!

Great performance by the lads yesterday played them off the park. The build up for gaghans goal was as good as I’ve seen at any level, let alone this one. Robbo you should definitely get that trophy. Also won in front of a big crowd at home. Great to see a lot of new faces hopefully they enjoyed the game and will come again.

Yes Gaghan’s goal was a contender for goal of the season. Excellent challenges in midfield and superb pass & move and very well taken goal.

Well done to everyone involved in the Project 500 scheme. Everyone is pulling in the same direction - commendable effort by everyone.

By chance I was at the wrong end for all 4 goals but it meant I could appreciate the noise the crowd made, fantastic!
Well done to everyone on and off the pitch.
And well written Robbo, very erudite
See you all at Lancaster

Was good to have the performance and result to match the attendance. Thought the full backs worked their socks off yesterday, further justifying their inclusion in the league team of the season. Can’t remember the last time Gards had an average game let alone a poor one

#proud

I think it is a fact that our two full backs don’t always get the recognition they deserve, We have some fantastic attacking players but without a solid and constructive defence the opportunities they get would not be as numerous. Well done Gards and Woodsy.

great result against woodley. a good solid all round team performance with some nice football thrown in. good to see witton start with intent, that’s what we need to do in every game to unsettle the opposition. well done to our fantastic players and to our brilliant management team, not to mention the guys who do such a superb job on the pitch, i have never seen a playing surface at this level an da few pegs above at this time of season looking so good. looking forward to the final few games. come on witton.

Just back off my hols and rounded it off nicely to watch a super display from the Albs, all round very good team performance from the players, we need to take this form into the playoffs and we we should be fine.

Still time for Fylde and Curzon to “Blow Up”, unlikely I know but it happens.

Really lovely post by Robbo, so nice I read it to my misses. She thinks Witton are a joke but I think even she was impressed by your comments on our tremendous little club.

Chris.
I do hope you are keeping my grandsons away from Gaynor, they cannot be allowed to hear such remarks!!!
