Albion vs Kendal

1-3 was not a fair reflection of the game in my view.

Whilst they passed the ball well all afternoon, at 1-0 up we seemed comfortable - the John Lawless effort that bounced over the bar (where is a wet day when you want one!) would have killed the game off in our favour.

To be fair they finished the first 2 chances they had all afternoon and another one of those crosses from the left wing that sails over Greg finishes the game as a contest.

i dont get why people make a new page on the same topic as another page gets really confusing to be honest

Pardon me ! I always thought that discussions about matches came under match reports .

We are now at the crossroads of the season. We were beaten by a better football team today but in quite bizarre cicumstances. Think they had only about 4 chances and scored 3 goals. Those lobs over Gregs head are beginning to worry me now because just about every team we play from now on will be on to it. Maybe he will be rested on Tues vs Matlock which is a big 6 pointer now. Another worry is that our home form is not good and the majority of our games left are at home. Do not think that Paul Booth was fully fit today and it showed when thay scored their first 2 goals. We ran out of ideas in midfield today and relied too much on Blackie.
As usual when we attract a few extra supporters we shoot ourselves in the foot and lose. Sorry for the downbeat posting but just had to get it off my chest.:frowning:

Roll on Tues vs Matlock:)

Still its not the end of the world if its under something else is it, can just keep it on one thread

Alright - sorry ! I just hadn’t spotted another thread under club notices

Back to the game…

I think all our games are going to be really tight and as we know from previous years, nerves will start to get pinched as the games go by, so we really need to keep putting points on the board when we get chance. Today was one of those chances.

There will be key points in games and today it was the effort by John Lawless that went over the bar. In that moment you could almost sense it wasn’t going to be our day and until then we had never looked like losing the game. Afterwards it was different - but we still had chances - Neil Black just rolling the ball past the post, their keeps making a great save from the Lawless free kick. It was never a 3-1 game in my view

I dont know what match you lot were watching. One shot , one goal first half, with the only 3 passes we put together. Didnt perform at all. Played a bit better second half, without the help of the awful officials. What was King doing on?, he’s a liability, also also flapper smith is becoming a liability as well, he’s done that too many times this season for it to be termed as unlucky. There, rant over, time for them to stand up and be counted, especially the midfield, who were non existant the whole match.

Midfield have been a worry for me for some time now.

what midfield? nobody coming through no one to pass the ball. please let’s have something in the middle of the park.

I think we have missed Ashley Dunn since he returned to Fleetwood, who knows, maybe we can get him again now that Steve Connors has signed for Fleetwood? On the goalkeeping front I agree that after a great start to the season Gregs form have gone down and too many similar errors have cost us points. I saw the goalkeeper who played for us against Winsford at the game, any chance he will be playing for us again? or will the budget not allow us to have 2 keepers?

I think Speare has joined us as No 2 to Greg.

and as he has taken accrington out of the unibond before surely in the short future greg will be made speares no 2.
worth a shot giving an ex unibond league champion a shot isnt it
