Alsager Town v. Witton Albion(PSF)

Witton kick off their pre season campaign on Saturday afternoon when they travel to North West Counties League Alsager Town.

The Bullets have already begun their preparations ahead of the new season having played two friendlies in the last week.

They started their campaign against neighbours Congleton Town and came out on top with a 2-1 win courtesy of a brace from Tom Hassall.

Midweek saw them travel to Altrincham Reserves and the roles were reversed as they went down narrowly by the same score.

Witton got back into pre season training on Tuesday night and Jon Macken has been busy putting his squad together for the challenges ahead.

The majority of last season’s squad have committed to the coming season so far and there have been two new arrivals in experienced striker Tom Pope, who signed after leaving Congleton Town and will help boost the attacking options.

Young midfielder Oli Roberts also joins after playing under the Albion management team at Colne and latterly Wythenshawe Town, is a highly rated player with excellent ability.

Results are not so important at this stage although it is always nice to win games but, match fitness and the opportunity to develop an understanding with each other is important as the new season gets closer.

Witton can expect a tough game as they look to start in a positive manner.

Kick off at Wood Park Stadium is 3pm.
