Another really entertaining and worthwhile friendly - albeit against limited opposition. Unlike previous seasons we haven’t had to incorporate loads of trialists. It’s more a case of building a new team from the old guard and adding the lads from Norton - all of whom impress me. They seem to be trying Titch in various positions and he is doing well and making goals for Cropper. I’d like to see the two of them up front as the partly new midfield looks very solid and competitive. The subs did well in the 2nd half and I like the combination of long passes and one-touch stuff.

On evidence so far, this side, or whoever ends up playing the league games is full of fight and passion, unlike last season’s sorry lot (with some noble exceptions…)

When doing match updates in Pre Season Friendlies, it’s difficult to be accurate with Substitutions especially when so many are made at the same time. So my posts might look different to the ones on the match report. The players substituted and the players brought on will be right name-wise but from a positional aspect it can be difficult.
