Looking forward to this one. The boy has been invited to a party so wont be coming but fair play for sticking tickets at £2. Cheaper than Marine at home!
Hopefully the post match beers in Alty are ceelebratory

I noticed this the other day Robbo on Alty’s website. As we would expect a lot of Alty fans are looking forward to Witton coming to town and make some very nice comments about our club.
Looking forward in going to Moss Lane,Alty are a great club with supporters that let you get on with being a Wittoner.
I bet we make up more than half the crowd. Now that really will annoy the Vics contributor on their forum.
I
looking forward to this game, brings back fond memories of our clashes in the past . always liked alty, i also admire the way in which they have paid their debts in full, unlike some green and white snakes. so good luck to whoever wins this tie. it’s bound to be witton cos this is our season with our young , but very competitive team. come the albion.
It’s great how this game has animated so many of us.
WHS
Well its an old fashioned cheshire derby day why not, FA cup, rivalry big vs little its got everything going for it, good luck to the albs lets hope we can pull of an FA cup shock.
We deserve to win this game. God knows we’ve lived through enough disappointments over the last few years to have earned a little good fortune.
Right now i would snap your hand off for a 95th miniute Moseley equaliser and a replay at the H4H next week.
I hope we turn up in numbers and give as much from the terraces as i’m praying the lads will give on the pitch.
It’s comfortably our biggest game for a good few years, whereas for Alty it’s probably more of an inconvenience.
I’d absolutely love a win, but if we can walk out of the ground with our heads held high after a 100% committed performance then i’ll be satisfied.
DON’T FORGET TO PICK UP THIS SEASON’S AWAY SHIRT FROM THE CLUB SHOP ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT. LIMITED STOCK REMAINS, SO DON’T MISS OUT!!
Hi, Can anyone advise on accomodation / information on the area, couple of us travelling down from scotland for this game. nightlife in Altrincham any good or is Manchester easily accessible for that. ? what sort of crowd is expected and how many Witton fans expected. ?
Hi Tombuc. With a name like that, I would guess you may be related to Mark Buchan?
I would recommend the Best Western Cresta Court Hotel, which is very central to the town centre, the football ground, and the tram station into Manchester.
I am not sure about nightime entertainment. I could probably recommend a couple of pubs where you would get a good game of dominoes! Better still, get the Merto Link into Manchester.
I would be happy with a crowd above 600, of which there maybe 100-150 Witton fans.
Rooms cost from £49 by booking direct with the hotel (0161 820 4167), but I am sure you could get one for less than £40 if you search the tinternet.
Hi,
Yea he’s my son.
Had a wee browse on the net some good options, the option you gave sounds ideal thanks. I was hoping something a touch more lively than the Dominoes but wont be the first time i have participated in pub dominoes !
Replay at home to maximise income or a straight win ?
Thanks for the info much appreciated.
Alty is good for a night out. Try the Belgian bar for continetal beers!
Also the usual kind of places, such as Weatherspoons etc.
Manchester access via the metro, getting back up to midnight ish.
If you’re looking for a better night, it might be worth staying in Manc and getting the metro in for the game.
Manchester it is, thanks for the info. Really looking forward to this game Although i am a bit of a bad omen have been down twice and have watched 2 defeats Lancaster City & Clitheroe both at home. 3rd time lucky here’s hoping !!
Alty will be operating ground segregation for this match. This causes a problem before the game, as you will not be able to get to the bar from the area segregated for our fans. You will only be able to get entry to the bar from outside of the ground.
extract from the match arrangements they have sent us:
Bar Facilities
In summary your fans are very welcome to enjoy a pre match drink but because of ground segregation which we always operate at least until kick off time away fans enter the bar off Moss Lane before going through the turnstiles. After the drink they then exit the bar onto Moss Lane and enter the ground through an appropriate turnstile.
Are we to be segregated into ‘The Brian Pritchard Enclosure’?
I hope we see a sign(or flag) directing us!
Going off messages and people talking we will probably take 200+ tommorrow - so be loud and proud!
UTA!
For those wanting to wear a replica shirt, we will be playing in the blue and yellow strip.
For goodness sake, segregation between Wittoners and Alty is utterly ridiculous at this stage of the FA cup, what on earth are they thinking of!! Anyway am hoping to bring along two neutrals to help cheer on the ALBS…come on the Albiooooooon!!
It’s to protect Wittoners from the Birch brothers. Seriously we have to segregate supporters otherwise Trafford Council wouldn’t give us a safety certificate for the ground. The bar will be open before the game so people can watch the Merseyside Derby. Though the Bar cannot be accessed from the away end. Hyde’s Bitter is about £2.10 a pint. Harp Lager is about £2.50 a pint. The pies cost about £2.50. Cans of fizzy pop cost a £1. There is a chippie next to the ground called Barney’s. A portion of chips cost £1.30. They are very nice chips. Programmes cost £2. I hope all Wittoners enjoy their stay tomorrow and we can all hopefully celebrate Nantwich’s win in the FA Cup.
Segregation is hardly a surprise anyway. I’m sure it would have been the same had it been at H4H.
It can make for a better atmosphere, so i’m not complaining.
Fair enough CA, anyway we were able to shuffle round the far side
