Another club in trouble!

Burscough have just weeks left before they fold after the owner quit the club, the manager hasnt been paid in 13 weeks, the printers who produce the programmes refuse to carry on unless they get the £1000 owed and the coach company want there £4000, apparently the fans payed the players last week! thank god we seem to have our house in order!

makes you realise how lucky we are at times, and appreciate the good work being done by the directors, and also the supporters who are able to help raise funds to help our club, well done to everyone.on another note Wonder how many more clubs will be in trouble befor the end of the season?and having to fold.

Kings Lynn have been wound up today in the high court, they seem to have a seven day stay of execution to pay a £67,000 tax bill, and their total debt is said to be £150,000. This could mean an extra promotion place into the unibond prem!

No it won’t, one less relegation, makes my blood boil, Durham promoted and then 2 weeks in the season decide they can’t afford the league so go amateur and lose all 42 games, now Kings lynn can’t afford to stay in the league.Serious questions need to be asked about the desperation to expend the unibond league when most of the clubs can’t make the step up. We, a well run club, lost our place because of teams like these breaking the bank and then running out of money. When will we get our reward???!!

Reform the old Chehire League I say !

Yes, It would be nice to be in the same league as Wigan again!

Until legislatures make the punishment fit the crime Clubs will continue to spend money they have not got, players will dive and handball and all in the name of winning. It is not “winning” when you do any of this, it is simply cheating. Danny Blanchflower had it right, winning is about “Glory” there is no “Glory” when you cheat your way to success. When we do gain promotion I hope we choose the “Glory” route for if not I want no part of it.
WHS.

Chester City are under a transfer embargo and have been unable to extend the loan deal of one player, whilst them over’t cut under an embargo have been able to permanently sign a player who’s loan deal ran out! Kings Lynn wound up over a 67K tax bill…

Yes it appears to be a trend of spending money clubs havnt really got or really pushing the boat out. As Witton did in the early 90s and look what happenedafter that.
Over night successes come and go, I believe in a steady sustained build up. and I also believe that the appropriate governing bodies of the game see honest clubs like Witton run like a club should be. and the rewards like World cup allocation of training venues (should England get awarded)will come our way.

Theres a winding up hearing in the company courts today against Hinckley United, nothing on thier forum about it so the fans must be unaware!!

Must have caught it from over the canal last night !

What an excellent posting TWSfooty about getting your rewards for playing the game. There is a ex Man City player that lives just around the corner from me and he enjoyed his spell playing for the reserves at Wincham Park.Infact he said the whole club enjoyed our facilities. There is professional proof that the club is more than man enough to host such a facility.

Hinckley United stay of execution till Jan 27th it says they will pay debt within two weeks, Kings Lynn have seven days(they had a playing budget of £500,000 last season when they were ousted from the conference as they didn’t spend what was needed on thier ground!! Incredible WHEN WILL THESE CLUBS EVER LEARN! Them across t’cut latest “cup cash is key to preserving V*cs future” so what if they hadn’t had the cup run, I hope HMRC has it all off em! DOOMED!

According to the NLP Kings Lynn have had it, good luck to thier fans if they reform at a lower level! Them across t’ cut seem to have wriggled out of the sh*t again, “two directors have written off loans of £800,000, leaving a debt of only £500,000” !!! “the £200,000 earned from the cup run will go strait to the creditors”. You just couldn’t make it up, so how will they come up with the £1.3 million to buy the ground then??

" You just could’nt make it up,so how will they come up with the £1.3 million to buy the ground then ? "

MM - If I bought the ground and painted it RED and asked Witton to play there for free and had V*cs play there as tenants would you still watch the Albion ( who would have approx £2 millions in the bank from the sale of WP ) ?

I know how they intend to pay for it…

The FA have circulated the fact that Northwich Victoria of the Blue Square North have put every player on the transfer list!

Ground is too big for us Eli, Sale Sharks could buy it if they could extend it to make it much bigger, but basically it is a “White Elephant” very nice, but useless.

Typical Labour reply - you have not answered the question WHS.

Q. Would you watch Witton Albion if we played at the stadium over the canal ?

I do not even pretend to understand what is happening across the canal, but MR Gorton i would watch Witton there because they are my team.Perhaps that choice is made easier to us out-of-towners.In my defence i am from good Lostock stock.

Forming a senior Cheshire league is a great idea.Far more teams/fans have to become more realistic. The only snag is that realism is often mistaken for lack of ambition.

Like said in previous posts i am happy where we are and to preserve our status i would happily slip out of the Unibond league.I would still be there with my dad at the back of the stand just behind MR Leather.

The soap opera across the way is doing the club no favours, all the kudos built up from the Alliance League days is rapidly dwindling away.

In answer yes I would watch the albs at that great green and white elephant over t’cut, but it’d have to be finished off proper like (some terracing behind the goals, for a start). Anyway when it’s knocked down we could have the floodights for WP!
