As announced on social media last night, Zac Corbett has left the club to join Sam Barnes at Colwyn Bay.
The club cannot prevent any player from announcing such things but in future however, the player’s position at the club will be confirmed by the manager and then the club will make the necessary announcements whether the player makes it public or not.
Once a player signs for another club, the Albion have no hold over what that player does. If the player announces that he has left the Albion and puts it on social media, its in the public domain and it will appear on the forums, both here and the club he has signed for.
It might be deemed to be bad form on behalf of the player, but in the modern world no amount of wishful thinking is going to change what happens.
I appreciate that the club would wish to make sure all loose ends are tied up before making their position public with regard to signing and releasing players, but that does mean that increasingly the “news” will be out there beforehand.
No point in anyone getting uptight, its the world we live in. Everyone needs to adapt and move on.
One issue was that a player who recently left the club, announced it on twitter before informing the club of his intention. Now that cannot possibly be right.
Anyway, like you say it’s time to move on and focus on the new players and the new season.
Not upset by these players going anyway. The only players I wanted to stay from last season were Danny “Aguero” Andrews. Jon Shaw, and Jon Dawson. I’d also like Titch and Josh Hancock to stay the rest as I say not too bothered about either lacked committiment or were simply not good enough proved by the fact we went down along with a manager and coach way out of their depth.
I’m quite optimistic about our new manager because ok he’s signed on most of Nortons team from last season which finished halfway. I like the fact some of the lads signed are quit big 6 foot plus lads because I think you can’t beat a good “bigun”. I would think he still needs a couple of good defenders as we seem a bit short on cover there. I obviously don’t really know how good Scott is as a manager but the bonus for me over last year is that he has Paul Ogden to hopefully turn too for advice should he need it. If you actually think about it in the short tenure Paul had last time as manager he signed on some good players and a some of them were utilised by Pritch in our promotion season.
So basically I’m please we’ve seen the majority of last season players go and lets get behind the new lads and be positive from the start. Really big fillup for me that a smashing lad like Jon Dawson has resigned for us. I think Jon is this league might be quite effective in a wing back role and his committment is without question. Hopefully we can get Titch and Hanks on board too alongside Lee Cropper because I feel there would be plenty of goals there!! We only want committed players not the majority of last seasons half hearted lot. Onward and upward with Scotties Red Army
