Ashton United vs Witton Albion.

Witton travel to fellow play off challengers Ashton United on Saturday afternoon in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. The Robins have been consistent in recent seasons reaching the play offs three times in the last four years but fell short in their last campaign, finishing 11th. The current run has been rather mixed losing three out of their last eight league games, two out of the last four including perhaps rather surprisingly at Buxton on Thursday night. They still find themselves in a decent position going into the weekend with an outside chance of the title but probably unlikely, being ten points behind leaders Altrincham. Witton will be looking to hopefully extend their unbeaten run to ten games and with their performances in recent weeks it certainly isn’t beyond them to achieve that. Previous encounters with Ashton have often proved eventful and this one could follow that same patten with both teams having so much to play for. The return fixture earlier in the season ended in a 1-1 draw so another close game can be expected. Kick off at Hurst Cross is 3pm.
