We were wondering why our players were arguing so vehemently about their winner as there seemed to be no foul or offside. Apparently it wasn’t a goal as it went into the net under the side netting!!!

I agree MM, from the stand it did look as if our keeper had it covered, but the ball still ended up in the net, and the side netting would explain that. What I cant understand is that why did none of the officials check the net after our lengthy protest???

Yes the players were furious but the Ref never checked the net why ? From the angle most Wittoners had - it just looked like a Howler from the keeper getting beat at his near post by a poorly hit shot.
Overall Ashton just about deserved the win they are not a bad side, We were not at our best but maybe good pressing and physicality from Ashton stopped us playing at our level. UTA

It was a very well judged leave by Calvin as the ball went wide!! Clear as day from where I was stood that it went in through the side netting hence the mass protest from the players. Where was the linesman looking???
