Witton hope to continue their upturn in results on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Ashton United in a BetVictor Northern Premier League fixture. A decent run in recent weeks has seen Albion collect seven points from the last twelve on offer and it could’ve been more, having been pegged back twice by a determined Stafford Rangers team last weekend. Ashton have also found a bit of form in the last few weeks despite their lowly position, winning three successive league games before that run ended at Scarborough Athletic. Amongst their victories were a very impressive 4-1 away success at Morpeth Town and a narrow win against high-flying Lancaster City. The return fixture at Wincham Park saw Witton come out on top with a narrow 1-0 win, courtesy of a late Cesaire Lingouba strike and they will be looking to complete the double as they continue their ambitions of reaching the play offs. Ashton could have former Albion striker Steven Tames in their squad and he will need to be closely watched if he features during the game. His appearances in recent weeks have been few as he has tended to be a substitute lately but given the chance, he will be looking to put one over on his old team. Kick off at Hurst Cross is 3pm.
