Atherton Collieries v. Witton Albion

Witton travel to Atherton Collieries on Saturday afternoon in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Colls have made a disappointing start to their campaign following relegation from the Premier Division at the end of last season, and have also exited the Emirates FA Challenge Cup at the hands of Silsden.

Witton will be pleased to have progressed to the next round of the cup following their midweek win against South Liverpool, and can now concentrate on the league for this weekend at least.

Atherton Collieries under the guidance of former FC United 0f Manchester midfielder David Chadwick, go into the game looking for their first points of the season indeed still seeking their first goal.

The game also sees the quick return to Atherton Collieries of Albion midfielder Kyle King who spent last season with the Lancashire club whilst Colls midfielder Oli Putnam had a brief spell with Witton.

Ben Harrison will be pleased with some aspects of Witton’s form so far but will also be hoping for improvement in certain areas.

Injuries to key players has hampered their progress in certain ways but they will continue to look for consistency as the season progresses.

Atherton Collieries will pose problems of a different kind for Witton and despite their lowly position, won’t be easy opponents.

Kick off at The Dreams2Reality Stadium is 3pm.

A cracking win in a game we dominated really, not sure how good AC are but a wins a win.

We played some fluent high press football and the midfield pair of King and Daly were excellent, Ducky in great form scored a nice brace and Rokka scored one of his worldies.

Team is settling well and looking more solid at the back now only worry was Koral coming off early but hopefully only precautionary. Well done lads. UTA
