this development squad sounds like a decent set up

Director of Football Development John Salmon, certainly seems to have the contacts and the determination to make a success of it.

Apologies it’s Audley FC not Audley Town.

Development Squad

The Development Squad take on Witton Albion First Team at Wincham Park tomorrow night in a pre-season friendly. Confidence is very high after a 4-0 win at Audley FC on Saturday with all the goals coming in the second half.

Director of Football Development John Salmon was extremely happy with the performance. “We had to stand up and be counted for half an hour or so as Audley gave us a good going over in physical terms in addition to their being a useful side. We changed things tactically at half time and as Audley tired and space appeared we were able to get on the ball and express ourselves.

The players have good ability and are enjoying themselves presently. Mark Bainbridge and Cameron White were excellent and there were times when Darius Browne and Jamie Matthews were unplayable, however former Wrexham professional and Captain Kyle Parle was Man of the Match for his leadership and consistency throughout.

We will continue to improve with plenty of football looming. Thursdays game gives Wittoners a glimpse of what we are trying to achieve and a chance for Scott and his management team to look at a few who I have no doubt will be knocking on the door of first team Squad action soon.”

Our first Lancashire League game will now be on Saturday 8th August away at FCUM and we have provisional games on the 12th and 15th August against Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton and Airbus UK respectively.
