Avro FC v. Witton Albion

Witton face another tough game when they travel to Avro FC in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture on Saturday afternoon.

Buoyed by an excellent performance and result against leaders Lower Breck on Tuesday night, Witton go into the game with renewed confidence and will be looking to continue in the same vain.

Avro go into the game in fourth place in the table but last weekend’s 1-0 win at Clitheroe was their first victory in six games.

Witton currently occupy twelfth place in the division but can climb to eleventh with the right result and if other results go in their favour but, they have to take care of business themselves.

The two teams played out a 2-2 draw earlier in the season at the U Lock It Stadium with goals from Tom Hoyle and Danny Kerr for the Albion whilst former Albion loanee Kyle Hawley was on target for Avro.

One familiar face to the Avro fans and players is Geffry Ebhote, who now dons the red and white of the Albion so he will be hoping to keep his former employers at bay.

Witton’s last visit to the Vestacare Stadium saw them on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline, and the only two players in that matchday squad still remaining at Witton are James Lawrie and Harry Woods.

Another difficult game faces the Albion and they will need to perform at their best if they are to get the desired result.

Looking forward to a trip to Avro although not a happy hunting ground, nice place for non league footie.

Team-wise do we stick with side that beat Lower Breck, or do we change shape again or bring in Bairstow.

I’d be tempted to start with the team that started the second half so:

Terry

Walls, Ebhote, Bembo-Leta, Damola Sotona

Deji Sotona, Bairstow, Brazel, Hamman, Edwards

Hoyle

Could see Lawrie starting though in a defensive midfield role, good luck whoever plays. UTA

Unfortunately, there will be no match commentary from today’s game.
