The weather is going to freeze tomorrow, but warm up on Saturday.
As such, the league have decided that this weekends fixtures will resume to normal rules, and can only be called off on the day of the game.
second-to-last game :clap
Just had notification from the Evostik League that as the weather situation has worsened since this time yesterday, emergency procedures have been implement as from 12:00 today.
This means we might hear from Ashton anytime in the next few hours that their pitch is unplayable.
Any news I cannot see it being on but would like to go
A Northwich fan asked Danny Johnson, their manager, what the chances of are of the game being on via Twitter. To which he replied: “ZERO.”
I’d start making other plans!

What a joke! Why wait?
Does that mean there are heated seats on the bus?
… why wait? Because the weather forecast suggests that snow might disappear overnight, with rain to come tomorrow - it’s too early to say whether that will make the pitch playable, but it makes sense to wait until the morning surely.
Just spoke to a mate who lives in trafford and he said it’s been snowing heavily since 4pm and it’s settling on top of snow that was already there. Even if it thaws it’ll be waterlogged. Time for a winter break me thinks!?
Because the 3 hour thaw before kick off will not make one jot of difference to the bowl of a pitch that is Ashton. Since their last home game the pitch has been frozen and rutted, it has snowed heavily on top of it, it has been checked earlier this week and under the six inches of snow it’s still frozen. More heavy snow has fallen, their gaffer has told everyone on twitter the game will be off, the league has allowed clubs to call games off early and still people dither to 9am on the day of the match!
